Adam's Romantic Weekend Continues With Anna and Katie

Adam Brody took a coffee break with his phone in hand Saturday while filming The Romantics on Long Island. He was rolling solo for this outing, unlike last week when he grabbed a drink with Glee's Dianna Agron. Adam looked cozy in his standard navy cap, but his costars Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin looked ready for warmer weather as they got to work this morning. Katie's back in New York after her weekend with Suri in Boston, where they took advantage of some downtime to pay a visit to Tom Cruise.

Katie Stops Getting Romantic to Be Sweet With Suri

Katie Holmes picked up coffees for herself and a friend Friday during a break from filming The Romantics on Long Island. She was in Boston by Saturday, when she brought out Suri for another afternoon of shopping around the city. The girls started out on their stroll in matching red dresses, but it looks like Suri changed into a newly purchased little pink number. The Cruise-Holmeses were having lots of fun family time while Tom worked on Knight & Day, but now Katie's commuting to her own movie set during the week. Their trip to Massachusetts was a short one, as the girls arrived in NYC by private plane last night before Katie headed out for an event with the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

Suri Isn't Afraid of a Little Long Island Chill

Katie Holmes bundled up but the cold didn't seem to bother Suri, who visited mom on the set of The Romantics in Long Island, NY, today. Katie and Suri are on their own, enjoying some girl time together after spending the past couple of months in Boston where Tom's been hard at work making Knight and Day. Suri's ponytail and barrette are too cute as she gets used to life on yet another movie set, this time so close to not just one but two of the cities she's already had so much fun exploring.

Katie and Suri Pause For a Romantic Lunch

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise took a bottle break while on the Long Island set of The Romantics yesterday. This morning, Suri stayed home while Katie stepped out solo for a quick coffee run. Katie was spotted with her costar Adam Brody earlier in the week, but another of the actors in the film, Josh Duhamel, is off dealing with some personal drama before joining the cast in NY. Katie has her work cut out for her over the next few months as she handles her movie and a possible return to Broadway, but she's no stranger to busy schedules.

Katie Holmes Is Feeling Romantic

Katie Holmes in on a roll. Fresh off last week's Cocktail on Broadway news, the star has now jumped on board an indie film. Holmes is joining the comedy, The Romantics, taking over a role from Liv Tyler. (No reason has been given for Tyler's departure.)

Romantics follows a group of college friends who come together one night for a wedding. Holmes will be playing the maid of honor to the bride (Anna Paquin), and both women have a long history with the groom (Josh Duhamel). Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, and Adam Brody round out the cast.

The storyline sounds cute, even if it's not the most original concept - a few eighties Brat Pack movies come to mind. I'm also interested in tracking this one because Holmes is making her debut as an executive producer. I'm glad to see her taking on more of a business role in Hollywood for a change, instead of letting Tom have all the clout.

What do you think about this new project? And what do you make of the ensemble? (Kind of a weird mix of actors, isn't it?)

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes focused on their fitness Saturday with a couples' run in Boston. The duo worked up a sweat before settling in for a candy-filled Halloween with Suri, who got a head start on the celebrations by showing off her costume last week - check out what lots of other celebrities were up to on the holiday! Katie was freshened up by Sunday afternoon, when she headed to Tom's set of Knight and Day with a few bagfuls of sandwiches for the cast and crew. Tom stopped to give Katie a kiss and hug after her sweet gesture. The pair has another reason to look so happy, as she just picked up a role in the independent comedy The Romantics alongside Anna Paquin and Adam Brody that starts filming this week in NYC.

The girls were back to their usual adventures after a fun weekend together of visiting Tom on set and picking pumpkins at a patch. Their family got a head start on their decorating for Halloween, and apparently Suri couldn't wait to get in her costume! She showed off her newest princess outfit later in the afternoon, while she and Katie stopped to see Tom during his break from work on Knight and Day.

Katie Holmes to Sip Cocktails on Broadway?

Sometimes it feels like everything comes full circle: Cocktail is coming to Broadway and Katie Holmes is in talks to star in it. The good news is that Heywood Gould, the man behind the original book and movie is working on the theater adaptation, but will it succeed on the Great White Way? I have a soft spot for the cheesy '80s flick, but my first reaction is that this could go more of the way of Big: The Musical (which kind of failed) than smash hit Hairspray.

Tom, Katie and Suri Have the Pick of the Patch

Tom Cruise ate on the run and got a visit from his girls while filming Knight and Day on Saturday in Boston. Katie Holmes was there for the second day in a row, but this time she brought Suri along to say hi to dad. Tom got to take a break yesterday, when Suri joined the celebrity kids pumpkin patch club, as they all get ready for Halloween. Their family is currently all about fun adventures in Boston, but they could be back in NYC soon - a Broadway version of Tom's film Cocktail is apparently in the works with Katie possibly attached as a star.
