Across the pond in New York, Fashion Week has been keeping the city that never sleeps buzzing. The shows officially started on 10th September, which has given me quite some time to start analyzing the newest beauty trends for Spring 2010. For those of you who are happy to put aside your perky neon and pastel makeup, this is your season to let your inner beauty do the talking! New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Luca Luca Beauty

Behind the scenes at the Fall 2007 Luca Luca show was every bit as glamorous as you would have imagined. Gorgeous, flawless looking models sat and waited their turn as makeup artists, lead by Tom Pecheaux, perfected smokey eyes and hair stylist, Teddy Charles, coiffed and curled.

The clothing was lined neatly in racks and the red carpet area had a white and silver Luca Luca backdrop. Unfortunately the photo area was packed inside since it was a mere 9 degrees on this frigid New York day. Although cramped, photographers didn't skip a beat as Carmen Electra, Kimora Lee Simmons, Lauren Conrad, Bobbi Thomas, Kelly Rowland, JC Chasez and many more made their fashionably late entrances.

Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to speak with both hair and makeup about their looks for the show. Teddy explained that he and Luca wanted to do something to up-sweep the models hair and keep it off of their necks to show off the details in the clothing. He also felt that sweeping the hair upwards shows off their faces.

He began this updo with hair that had been washed the day before. He started with a low ponytail and didn't pull it completely through - in essence he made a loop.

With the remainder of hair that was poking out, he used a Tourmaline T3 Ionic Wet/Dry Iron to create waves. Then he set hair with a touch of Kerastase Resistance Double Force Hair Spray. Each model only took about 20 minutes.

All of the makeup was by MAC Cosmetics. The eyes were definitely the main focus. They were lined in black liner and carbon, an intense black shadow was applied densely in the crease so that it looked opaque. It was then blended out with a brush and q-tip to look sheer on the lid.

Over the shadow, shadow pigment in dark soul was carefully applied with a crease brush. This is where the intense gold glitter look comes from. Next, lots of zoomlash black mascara in zoomblack was applied to the lashes in several coats and no false lashes were used.

The face was done last in case the dark shadow fell. It was primed, then concealer and foundation was added. The finishing touch was a drop of strobe cream added to the skin to reflect light. Atop that was a dusting of Blot Powder Loose. Just a hint of contour was added to the cheeks.

Brows had a clear gloss on them to look nice and wet. Lips were a nude color to appear like they were fading into the skin. Actually, a new product by MAC called Skinfinish in Shimpagne was finger brushed onto the lips.

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Luca Luca

Luca Luca continues to exude upscale elegance and charm with their Fall 2007 collection. Colors here were muted; nothing was bold except for the gold/silver lame in most of the threads.

The showstopper was the ski wear. These sporty looks were shocking and pristine - a jolt of white lightening. Other stunners included a pair of silver metallic rayon skinny pants, a champagne sequin dress with caramel mink stripes and an exquisite white fox vest. Clearly, Luca Luca has no reservations about fur. Evening wear was very alluring and sexy with long, elegant and shimmery gowns. Skin was an accessory with plunging draped backs; a woman would feel just as sexy as she looked wearing these items. There were some 80's references: a high waisted pleated pant with cuffs and a (surprisingly really cute) zip up sweatshirt dress. The handbags featured were larger than their usual clutches; some were lovely, some were way too large to be practical.

NY Fashion Week: Luca Luca

Luca Luca may not be a household name, but when the Hilton sisters, Patricia Field, and Emmy Rossum all show up at the label's New York Fashion Week event, you know Luca Luca is a name to know. And after seeing the Spring 2007 collection, I can understand why the celebs love it. (To see all of Fabsugar's New York Fashion Week coverage, click here.)

Created by Milan native and noted looker Luca Orlandi, the clothes are delightfully feminine without being fussy; again, we see a heavy reliance on neutral tones, here with romantic splashes of red. The irresistible cocktail dresses and evening gowns emphasize clean lines and retro-inspired shapes, including cape jackets, high waists, and voluminous skirts, that are both flattering and innovative. George Lucas Owns the Droid: the Name, Not the Phone

What do George Lucas and the new Droid have in common? More than you'd think! I'm stoked to get my hands on the new device being offered up by Motorola to see if it really can top my iPhone, but when I got an invite to the San Francisco launch party I noticed something interesting at the bottom: the word "droid" is licensed to Lucasfilm LTD, which means Motorola pays a fee to the Star Wars icon to use his trademarked term.

I got the facts confirmed by a friend that works at the Lucas compound, but also found some other interesting tidbits about the name. The same device is being called the Milestone in Italy and Germany, but comes with more advanced multitouch support. Ah, the things you learn!

Taylor, Johnny, Megan & Vampires Make Scream Awards Sexy

The Spike Scream Awards took over the Greek Theater in LA on Saturday night, bringing together the biggest names in Horror, Fantasy, Comics and Science Fiction. Vampires were of course some of the biggest winners of the night and the stars of The Vampire Diaries and True Blood were all in attendance. Kate Bosworth presented a statue to Alexander Skarsgard, amid rumors that there's something going on between them. Taylor Lautner was the only Twilight representative and debuted the "Behind the Scenes" New Moon footage, which wasn't much though more may come when the show actually airs. There were rumors that Kristen Stewart would make a cameo since she was back in LA, but fans were still satisfied to see sexy Taylor representing and all the shirtless Wolf Pack in the footage from the upcoming film. Johnny Depp accepted a spike for the incomplete Alice in Wonderland as well as presented an award of immortality to Keith Richards. Megan Fox expressed her gratitude to the Transformers franchise while Stephen Moyer had one of the sweetest moments of the night when he thanked the True Blood producers for being "surprising matchmakers."

On the red carpet, one of the night's winners Isabel Lucas chatted about spending last Halloween with Shia LaBeouf, though she admitted that the holiday isn't huge in her native Australia. She looked great in her Chanel dress and Jimmy Choo shoes even without getting a drop of sleep the night before. Eliza Dushku was sexy posing for the cameras and presenting with Dave Navarro - garnering cheers from her fans the whole time. Justin Long was out to support one of the night's big winners Drag Me to Hell and was friendly as he made his way into the awards. Matt Lucas's Ex Kevin McGee Found Hanged

Matt Lucas's ex Kevin McGee committed suicide yesterday, after leaving a message on Facebook saying: "Kevin McGee thinks death is much better than life". Police broke into his Edinburgh flat at 8am, three hours after the message, to find the 32-year-old TV producer had hanged himself. Matt and Kevin married in a civil ceremony in December 2006, but Matt divorced Kevin ten months ago. Our thoughts are with Kevin's friends and family.

Jordan Joins David For His Birthday Bash!

Katie Price was out on the town in London last night to celebrate David Walliams' birthday in Notting Hill. David's birthday bash was held at The Electric Cinema, where Matt Lucas, James Corden and Geri Halliwell turned up to party with their friend. Kimberly Stewart held her birthday celebration close by, and also dropped in to greet the birthday boy. Katie showed up without her man Alex Reid, but alongside her make up artist friend Gary Cockeril, while Geri was accompanied by her man Henry Beckwith. It looks like a fun night!

Rachel and Josh Have Four Wheels and Two Smiles

Rachel McAdams and Josh Lucas teamed up for a bike ride around NYC this afternoon. The happy couple has been making the most of their time on the East Coast, apparently looking at properties together. Rachel's ex Ryan Gosling is also currently in the city. Though rather than worry about an awkward interaction, it sounds like he's moving on himself.

Rachel and Josh Explore Their City Options

Rachel McAdams has had a busy week in NYC promoting State of Play - check out Buzz's review here - but there's still room in the schedule for some time with her man, Josh Lucas. After chatting with Jimmy Fallon last night, Rachel and Josh were spotted checking out a few apartments together earlier today. The movie's promotional tour may have been short on red carpet events, but Rachel and Josh seem more comfortable with their low-key dating scene.
