Aw, xoqiqixo, is having such glittery fun with her little kitty. But I'm mainly mesmerized by her shiny sequined jacket and those oxford flats - look at those adorable tassels! It's all so comfortable but doesn't lose its polish.

Look of the Day: Wang(ish) Sweats

Davida10 and I are on the same wavelength. See, we're both wearing Wang(ish) sweats today. I like how she paired her casual bottoms with a crisp black blazer for maximum contrast - smart! The beanie also adds a funky grunge touch.

Trend Alert: Sharp Trousers

It's tempting to wear the usual jeans, leggings, or tights during cold months, but I double dare you to try something new. Just look to Rachel Bilson for inspiration. Instead of donning the expected denim and top combo, the cutie paired a crisp white shirt with a pair of sharp trousers.

Note: these pants are all about the perfect fit. Ankle or cropped lengths can be flattering, just don't forget to complement them with fresh footwear.

Love It or Hate It? Painter's Chair

My grandmother was a painter and also a decorator, so she was very particular about the way her studio looked. Afraid her paints might ruin her studio floors, she painted them all black and then called in her friends for a splatterpainting party, purposefully painting her floors à la Jackson Pollock. This Urban Outfitters Painter's Chair ($298) is a bit like those floors, except much less inspired. Its allover splatterpaint is really just decorative, not functional. It's also a bit of a knock-off of Marcel Breuer's Wassily Chair. What do you think?

Love It or Hate It? Cardboard Fireplace

I spotted this Cardboard Fireplace ($24) at Urban Outfitters and I kind of love it. For one, the bricks remind me of the cardboard bricks I used to play with when I was a kid. And two, I love a good faux fireplace - my "crackling fire" DVD plays on repeat in the Winter. But I do wish this fireplace had a prettier mantel, like a white one with ornate moldings. What do you think?

Plug Into This Cute Robot Power Strip

I love it when someone takes a boring household item that we all need - like a power strip - and turns it into something fun. Case in point: the Electric Man power strip from Urban Outfitters. This cute robot-shaped power strip has four grounded outlets - one on each of the little guy's appendages. The main power switch is on his side, and you can see whether or not he's powered up by checking the red light above his heart. Add it to the list of cute robot goodies on my wish list!

Trend Alert: Metallica Jackets

I have a ton of Winter coats in my closet, but I've yet to own a metallica jacket. I admit, I was shy of the shiny, but seeing Gwyneth Paltrow in her silver Alice + Olivia coat and Christian Louboutin caged booties at the Valentino event in NYC swayed me otherwise. These toppers inject major wattage to dark winterwear, and are perfect for upcoming holiday soirees. If the longer length is too much bling for your taste, try out shorter jackets or tailored blazers.
