Fab Flash: Is Donatella Going to Leave Versace?

Just last week, Donatella Versace insisted that despite the financial problems the company would weather the storm arguing, You have to face the truth. For me, life is about chapters. Die and born again, die and born again. It’s the story of my life.”

This week it seems, however, that not everybody is convinced of Donatella's strength. A damning Newsweek article by Dana Thomas charts the "Tragic Decline of the House of Versace" which she claims has been falling apart since the death of Gianni, and that it's time for the company to move away from family control. "Many in the fashion industry believe it's time for the brand to continue without Versace family involvement - and some suggest that the family is starting to accept this idea too."

The Italian fashion house used to take over $1 billion in sales under the control of Gianni, but has since fallen to less than half of this. Some cite the remaining families resistance to adapt to new times and new economies, also the allowance of luxurious expenses. "There was zero expense control in the company, and the lifestyle was absolutely, positively insane," says the Versace source.

All of these problems are building up and you can't help but wonder if Donatella will be forced to leave. Do you think that she should pass on the control to someone outside of the family?

Beyonce had one of the most memorable stage outfits last year as she worked an edgy piece by Gareth Pugh. This year she has gone for something much softer with a long, pale pink, Atelier Versace mermaid-gown. The dress has a geometic corset with metallic panels. Fab Ad: Georgia May Jagger for Versace

You can't seem to escape the name Georgia May Jagger right now. Since scoring the Hudson campaign back in July, she has been racking up work including becoming the new face of Rimmel and a Vogue covergirl. Georgia, along with Lara Stone, is said to be championing the return of the blonde bombshell.

It's hardly surprising then that she has reportedly attracted the attention of Donatella Versace for the Spring 2010 campaign. The 17 year old model is expected to be shot by Mario Testino.

Her agent told Grazia, "We are delighted that Georgia is following the foot steps of her mother who did Versace with Avedon. She was thrilled to be working with Donatella and Mario and to be bringing it through to a new generation."

This is surely a name to watch if she can land an enormous international campaigns as a teenager! Do you think that she makes a good model for Versace?

But being the boyfriends of the hottest celebs probably helped put them on Spring '10's most desirable menswear catwalks. Madonna's man Jesus walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, and Y-3; Halle Berry's baby daddy Gabriel did his thing exclusively for Louis Vuitton; and Kylie Minogue's hottie Andrés worked it for Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier. All are scrumptious, but which famous beau is the hottest model?

2010 Spring Milan Fashion Week Fab Roundup!

Even under a scrunched time line, Milan Fashion Week stunned with numerous beautiful collections. In this roundup, I highlight some of my favorite designers, including Versace, Ferragamo, Fendi, and Armani, to name a few. I admit, Dolce & Gabbana's collection was my favorite, but that's not stopping me from showing you Bottega's soft and swirly frock, Gucci's cut-out wonder, and Emilio Pucci's magical prints. I can't seem to resist this tropical bohemian masterpiece from Etro. Simply a-mazing.
