Who, what, where (or wear)? These are the questions people had running through their heads when the Spring Fashion Weeks were in effect. We were mostly focusing on the clothes rather than who dominated the front rows, but let us also dissect the guests. Editors, celebrities, and models get invited to the shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. One lady who always looked amazing was Carine Roitfeld. Here, at the Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris, the Vogue Paris editor gave new meaning to the term power suit. The serious glare also helps. Sometimes the simplest ideas turn out to be the most brilliant. As Stefano Pilati explained the inspiration for his Spring collection: "I just started with three thoughts: blazers, sweatshirts, and a vaguely preppy idea, and then it went into thinking about goddesses, stars."Well, it worked - to say his jersey sweatshirt inspired bustier dress was a hit of the season would be an understatement. What's even more astounding is the variety of women that have fallen in love with it. Pilati must be pleased!

I love how versatile Yves Saint Laurent's strapless grey dress is; you can dress is way up or way down. Julianne opted to dress hers up with standout jewels, and sleek hair and heavy makeup. Model Audrey Marnay went a more understated route in leggings and tousled hair. I'm all for disheveled chic but Julianne sparkles. Whose side are you on?

The YSL strapless dress has been a big hit on the red carpet having already been seen on Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore and Audrey Marnay. It's a classic rare style that would suit all shapes and ages. You could also dress it up with jewellery or down with layers and tights/leggings. However, if you can't stretch to a YSL price tag...

French Connection have really upped their game with their Spring/Summer collection and this grey Wizard dress (£75) is certainly no exception. This is a great alternative to the YSL dress and under £100. Team with black heels or shoots (shoe-boots) if you're feeling particularly adventurous. Accessorise with a necklace and a plain clutch.
