The 10 Coolest Black and White Geometric Wallpapers

When shopping for accessories, bedding, and table linens, I tend to gravitate toward color. But I am also very much a solids girl. So I'm thinking that a geometric black and white wallpaper would give me the pop and pattern that I need, while still allowing me to go crazy with colorful accessories. When all else fails, black and white always seems right. It may be trendy, but it's also classic. Notice how all three are wearing bright nail polish to pack a little punch.

I love too many colors and styles to ever go only black, white, and modern, but I applaud he who has the restraint (and the balls) to do it. I spotted this large Georgian house in Tetbury, a small town in - believe it or not - the Cotswolds, and was blown away. Short of a dab of yellow paint in some artwork and its plush green lawn, the house is all black, white, and gray, and each room is essentially either entirely black or white. This makes matching oh so easy! Is that a cop-out? Beyond that, low-slung, stream-lined furnishings rule, and some modern classics like cowhide rugs and Arne Jacobsen Egg Chairs and glitzy elements like crystal chandeliers and tufted furniture are spattered throughout. It's a very powerful space that's not necessarily what I would personally create for my own home, but I'd kill to stay over a few nights. See more photos and chime in when you read more.

At the Paris premiere of the hotly anticipated Coco Chanel bio-flick, Coco Avant Chanel, she wore a black-and-white floral frock from Lagerfeld's Spring couture collection. Midday Muse: Monochrome Living

I'm not one to steer away from color or pattern, but I think there is something to be said for monochrome interiors. In a vibrant, busy space, shapes can become lost and ignored, but a more pared down design can accentuate your furnishings, reminding you each day of why you fell for them in the first place. Take the chandeliers in the photograph, for example. They're remarkable and the white walls make note of that, whereas a wallpaper might be a distraction from their unique, drippy form. I myself love white furniture but black has never been for me. In most cases I find black and white interiors a bit too modern for my taste. But here, the vintage trunk, traditional sofa, and painted hardwood floors prevent that. No, it's not the most conservative space, but it doesn't scream bachelor pad, either. What do you say? Yea or nay for monochrome living?
