Marisa Tomei was snapped looking incredibly chic on her way to dinner at STK restaurant in LA. Her red trench - collar slightly popped - textured black pants, and peep-toe black patent booties are perfect together. The gunmetal clutch tucked under her arm and gold necklace provide shine without stealing the show. But really, Marisa's look is a testament to how a trench, especially in a bold color, can instantly jazz up any look. Now we know the actress's thoughts on red.

Trend Alert: Statement Necklaces For the Four-Legged Set

Not technically necklaces, these pretty pieces still make quite a statement. Hello there. Since oversized necklaces continue to be a favorite fashion trend of mine, I'm gonna rename these statement collars for furballs.

Take Sundance ($58) - I love the turquoise centerpiece and smaller round details 'cause it's so cowboy chic with a Southwestern twist. There's plenty of other items in both thick and thin for pooches of all sizes and styles. Guarantee these jewels will get him noticed on his next walk around town!

2009 Critics' Choice Awards: Kristen Bell

Behind-the-Scenes: Chloe's Beverly Hills Chihuahua Wardrobe

While several of the pups of Beverly Hills Chihuahua sported fashions I recognized from doggie couture label Little Lily, for most of her clothed scenes, star pup Chloe wore handmade outfits of sleek and chic materials imported from Europe . . . all to give her a look modeled after Chanel, Valentino, and the like.

Costume designer Mariestela Fernández designed 30 dresses to fit a prototype of the canine actress (named Angel) and worked with the star's animal coordinator over three fittings to select the final 17 outfits used in the film. From nightgowns to ball gowns, most outfits featured specially created booties meant to stay on her paws (well, most of the time . . . wink wink to those of you who've seen the film already).

Creating Chloe's opulent necklace required three weeks and several design changes. At first, filmmakers wanted a large pendant in the front but found that knocked into her lil front legs. Then, they had to remove a second row of smaller diamonds because they felt it was too heavy for the Chihuahua's small frame. Lastly, they made three copies of the final design in case of mishaps. Oh yeah, in case you hadn't guessed, they were cubic zirconium not diamond. Now see the still stunning collar and fab fashions in the gallery below.

Birth Bone Dog Charms: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

Each birth bone is encrusted with 100 stunning Swarovski crystals in the colors of your pup's birthstone. That's right, both the front and back are covered with the sparkle. Though, at $40 a pop, I'd be worried the charm would pop off my dog's collar on our evening walkies, you could add this to your own necklace or key chain instead. The only question is . . . would you?

Fall Glimpse: Neck Fest

If Spring dabbled in statement necklaces, Fall was a full-on neck fest. Nay a dainty necklace here, a dainty necklace there; yay layers of chunky chains (Givenchy), costumey rhinestones (Balenciaga), jagged Swarovski crystals (Burberry), mixed media (Lanvin), and antique Indian masterpieces (McQueen).

The most innovative was perhaps Dries Van Noten (left), who fashioned his super-colorful, and no doubt super-heavy, neck pieces out of other jewelry items: ethnic bangles. Add a fur collar atop a stellar collection, and this neck fest would make any vampire pounce.

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Phillip Lim

When I said wearing Phillip Lim to his show made me feel confident, it was largely because his Spring offerings are abundantly amazing. Lim's eclecticism came out with an array of functional separates, flirty frocks, kooky accessories and experimental flourishes. Lim provided us a quote from musician Pedro Soler, "That very night, while removing his lavish costume, the bullfighter looked at his past and felt grateful for this suit that calls for a noble body and soul." Lim started the show with a smart white Spanish-esque jacket, but the clothes moved into a soulful and beautiful direction.Sharp pleats, ruffles and tailoring created a canvas for nuances such as big swingy fringe, sequins and jeweled collars. Little jackets, one in leather, were enticing. The zippered ruffled items were trippy, in a very good way. Metallic shoes, polka dot bags and Christmas bowed belts poked fun at fashion. My favorite look was this wavy sequin cropped top, with artsy necklace and loose utility pants (middle) - this one caught Leighton Meester front row center's eye, too. Great minds think alike.
