Heidi Klum might have lost her jewelry line to a nasty lawsuit, but that isn't going to stop another bodacious blonde from testing her celebrity designing skills on a home shopping network. Molly Sims has just inked a deal with HSN to design a costume jewelry collection called Grayce. Molly's art deco-inspired line includes earrings, cuffs, and bracelets stirred by the '60s, her love for travel, and photography. No clovers included.

We all adore Nicole Richie, and while many celebrity designer collaborations have fizzled, her costume jewelry line is still going strong. I can see why. House of Harlow 1960 is affordable, unique, and the starlet models it herself - smart move. The latest batch consists of exotic gold and enamel earrings, etched geometric gold earrings and a cute locket, and some bold rhinestone earrings. I wouldn't mind a few of these pieces; how cool is this white leather bedazzled cocktail ring? Way.

Casa Quickie: Costume Jewelry as Ornaments

I bought this kitschy pink mini Christmas tree for $5 at Polkadot Variety in SF on a whim, thinking I'd display it as-is in a small flowerpot. But when I got it home, I realized the tree looked a little bare. Since ornaments probably don't come that small, I decided to unearth my big box of costume jewelry and use rock star pins, clip-ons, buttons, keys, pendants, and guitar picks as ornaments. I used embroidery floss to create hooks for the pieces that couldn't clip onto the tree on their own. And, I wrapped a set of pearl Mardi Gras beads around it as a garland.
No, it's not the most impressive tree, but it kind of makes me laugh. And, my rhinestone costume earrings add a bit of sparkle.

Yoox.com is now my favorite jewelry stop. The online retailer launched Past & Present, a new area dedicated to contemporary and vintage jewels. In contemporary, you'll find modern pieces like skull earrings and chain-link rings. In vintage, there are one-of-a-kind necklaces, art deco earrings, and sparkly pieces, like these Unsigned Crystal Earrings ($85). Hurry, they're selling out quickly.

Check it. Prada just introduced a limited-edition line of delectable retro-inspired costume jewelry. The stones might be faux, but that doesn't stop Prada from using the best material. The pieces are made out of an exclusive crystal-like and shatterproof material cut and colored to resemble the real thing.

The collection includes necklaces, earrings, and bracelets made in rich hues of purple, kiwi green, teal blue, and copper. In addition, Prada will also debut a fun assortment of totes and handbags, which will also be adorned with faux stones. Both collections drop next month and will retail from $390 to $1,410.

With costume jewelry on the rise, it's no surprise lacquered jewelry has resurfaced. It's just so shiny, juicy, yummy. It can be either exotic or cheeky. And, it has a cool retro feel. Even Nicole Richie's House of Harlow dabbled in lacquer. It's also inexpensive, so there you go, lacquer me.

A few days before the November ETA, Nicole Richie's costume jewelry line has been released to Kitson LA. And the pieces are cool. With an Egyptian feel, gold, silver, and enamel bangles rule the offerings. The big black and gold ring Nicole has been modeling is there too, for a keen $38. Did I not mention the price is right? Most pieces are below $70, except for this large black and gold cuff, which is on pre-order for $125. A fine beginning to what I'm sure will be a sparkling endeavor.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Monet Mazur

Sleek, sexy, sophisticated - all words to describe Monet Mazur at The House Bunny CosmoGIRL! special screening in New York. While her Issa of London noir gown doesn't reveal much, it exposes in all the right places. And here's a lesson in accessories. Take a classic dress, add a splash of color (Stella McCartney satin plum clutch) and pile on vintage jewelry, preferably Chanel vintage jewelry. I especially like how she layers the bracelets haphazardly. For added oomph, she wears the studded Steve Madden gladiators that are all the rage. Some high fashion, some low fashion, all fabulous.
