21 Hair and Makeup Looks You WON'T Be Wearing Come Spring

From the runways onto department and drugstore shelves, I'm sure we'll see lots of fresh new makeup options and application techniques go full circle come March. Last month in New York, we saw six very wearable trends emerge, from peach lips to bold eyeliner to heavy-handed under-the-eye liners. But throughout the course of New York Fashion Week and other Spring 2010 shows, including Paris, London, and Milan, there were other looks that won't quite make the transition. Take this sequin forehead heart-shaped applique, for instance - straight from the Ungaro show in Paris, for which Lindsay Lohan acted as artistic adviser. While I appreciate each and every designer's artistic flair, some looks just won't translate to real life. See what I mean now.

New York Fashion Week is always a whirlwind, and it's important to stop and smell the fashion roses. In my final roundup, soak up sleek styles from Tommy Hilfiger, edgy chic by Kimberly Ovitz, and pretty musings by Erin Fetherston. Phi (pictured) was my final show - front row Traina spotting! - and it was every bit irreverent as expected. Trend Alert: 54 Jumpsuit

Cassie and I would have had hella fun at Studio 54 - but we would have had to coordinate clothes because she donned a 54 Jumpsuit last night at The September Issue premiere in NYC and I bought my Rachel Rachel Roy one last night. Great minds . . .

I am super stoked to flaunt mine. I know jumpsuits are trendy, but this classic black one says staying power, and dance party, to me. I was envisioning mine with strappy metallic sandals and sexy jewelry, but platform boots and hot pink nails are a fun Fall option.

Longtime Fab pal Brittany Snow attended the LA premiere of 17 Again outshining everybody in her stylishly sassy ensemble. She kept the color palette light with a soft yellow Erin Fetherston dress, topped with a cropped gray and white cloudy blazer. Her finishing touches include a pair of strappy black patent Jimmy Choo sandals, Swarovski drop earrings, stacked bangles, and a black clutch. I wouldn't change a single thing . . . que bonita!

Fashionable Tips For the Perfect Party

MTV's new House of Style debuted over the weekend and with it a fun segment on hosting a dinner party. Since I'm always on the lookout for fabulous new ways to make my soirees more stylish, I tuned in. Fashion designer Erin Fetherston shared five tips for creating the ultimate dinner. While Fetherston obviously doesn't cook, her ideas are festive and fun. To find out what they are and check out a video of her dinner, read more.

Choose your theme. Fetherston's is "Enchanted," a whimsical fairy tale.
It can be simple - ask everyone to wear a fun hat.
Design your decor. You know I'm all about creating a look for a party and I love how Fetherston uses rose petals and candles to transform her house from everyday to party day.
Create homemade favors. I want to know how Fetherston made the sparkly animal masks!
Select your menu. Well, of course it's a dinner party.
Enjoy! This is my favorite tip. It's the most important thing to remember when throwing a party; if you're not having fun, don't host one.

At yesterday's Erin Fetherston show, models partied like it was 1992 - or at least their hairstylists did. Crimped hair floated down the runway, while hats and headbands added a playful touch. Do you like this flight of fancy, or is it not your thing?

Fashion Week Quickie: Fetherston's Fall LBD

I plan to attend Erin Fetherston's show at New York Fashion Week. It's always a girlie trip down her runway, but come Fall, expect "refined whimsy." This designer is known for her whimsy, but it looks like she's going to present something more mature. By the looks of this LBD it's going to be party-ready. Cute!

Who Was The Best Dressed at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund?

Last night, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue, held their fifth annual Fashion Fund extravaganza in New York City. The big winner was Alexander Wang who won $200,000 along with a year of mentoring. The runner-ups were Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai (Vena Cava) and Albertus Q. Swanepoel (Albertus Quartus). Also, the keynote speaker of the evening (and Charlize Theron's date) was none other than John Galliano (Dior). All of the attendees arrived dressed to impress on the red carpet.
