Prabal Gurung seems to be a Hollywood favorite as of late. Leighton Meester was spotted donning his big blooms just the other day, and now, Thandie Newton has jumped on the fashion bandwagon. The effervescent actress emoted maximum sophistication in Prabal's black-and-white floral frock at the 2012 movie premiere in LA yesterday. I love the chic color palette, and how she accessorized with sleek black suede Brian Atwood pumps and matte red lips. Now that's classic Hollywood beauty.

Fab Finger Discount: New York & Co. Floral Pencil Skirt

These New York & Co. Floral Pencil Skirts ($12, originally $40) totally remind me of Thakoon. In fact, the cranberry colored one reminds me of Michelle Obama's red and purple Thakoon frock. I can't decide which version I like best, they're all so pretty.

Here's why you need one (or all three): they're a modern alternative to the basic black pencil skirt, they're super inexpensive, and they're the perfect rich hues for Fall. To counterbalance the fanciness, I would wear one with a gray tee and a faux fur collar scarf. And if the length is too stuffy for you, chop it or wear it as a paperbag skirt!

Trend Alert: Rose Print Tops

Summertime is always full of floral prints, but this year I have noticed that it has become even more specific as roses seem to dominate prints across the High Street. This kind of print is perfect for adding a feminine touch to an ensemble.

Prints range from classic styles like this New Look vest top (£18) to more graphic versions like this Miss Selfridge t-shirt (pictured, £20). The colour palette varies too. Topshop's drape side top (£22) is a neon pastel shade, where as Debenham's crop top (£16) is much softer. I would team the style with tailored trousers, shorts or even skinny jeans and maybe layer under a blazer. What do you think of this type of print?

Who Wore It Better? Ralph Lauren Floral Dress

The only thing Brit model Poppy Delevigne and Heidi Montag have in common is this super-cute floral Ralph Lauren dress. Poppy gave her frock a hard edge adding a tough leather jacket, black belt, flat sandals, and a metallic clutch. Heidi opted for a more Southern-belle vibe adorning herself with a floppy pink hat, matching watch, white Chanel bag, and peep-toe pumps. Same dress but two totally different ways. Which do you prefer?

Lindsay Price took her stylin' self to Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend. For one of the events, she slipped into a sweet floral dress. Trend Alert: Floral Bikinis

Floral dresses are a key Summer item, so why shouldn't this print extend to swimwear? This Summer why not head to the beach or the pool in this style which is currently all over the High Street. The bright colours are great for relaxing in the sunshine and I have fallen for the charm of vintage prints like Topshop's bikini (£25).

Look Book Love: Tucker, Summer '09

As we know by now, Tucker has a love affair with lively prints. What I find most intriguing about this affair is how it somehow manages to maintain seriousness. Take for instance this silk floral blouse - it's fun but by no means silly. The rest of Tucker's Summer '09 collection of dresses and tanks features zigzags, checkers, and even some solids. The common thread - pun - is that everything is cut to be roomy. Perfect for the season.
