If you're looking for an effortlessly chic costume this year, look no further than Jackie O. Unfortunately she left us in 1994, but her legacy and style will live on forever. Among the signature pieces in Jackie's closet were oversize round sunglasses, pillbox hats, pearls, a khaki trench coat, black flats, bow headbands, and cropped pants. Clearly this woman loved fashion and the fashion world loved her back. Whether she was performing her first lady duties or vacationing on a yacht with her second husband Aristotle Onassis, Jackie was always put together - the world never caught her in sweat pants. I recently visited Anthropologie and was sidetracked by a fabulous book: What Would Jackie Do? An Inspired Guide to Distinctive Living by Shelly Branch and Sue Callaway ($13). If you admire Jackie O as much as I do, you will fall in love with this book. It offers fun life and fashion tips based on what the authors have learned from Jackie's grandiose life. An example? Book your flight through an airport where the agents are apt to be less savvy about recognizing Prada. Smart!

Jeanne Tripplehorn to Play Jackie Kennedy Onassis

Wow, I probably never would have thought of this, but now that she's been cast it makes sense: Jeanne Tripplehorn, known mostly for her role on Big Love, will play Jackie O in HBO Films' production Grey Gardens.

Based on a 1975 documentary, the story follows Big Edie and Little Edie (played by Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore, respectively), the "aunt and cousin of Onassis who made headlines when the health department threatened to raid their flea- and raccoon-infested 28-room East Hampton, N.Y., mansion."

I am always drawn in by Tripplehorn's performances on Big Love and I'm curious to see what she does with this role. Like any movie character based on a high-profile public figure (Idi Amin, Queen Elizabeth II, etc.), it's a pretty tall order.

Fab Redux: O Jackie O!

Calling all Jackie O aficionados! Your former first lady of pill box hats, oversized sunglasses, and little skirts suits would proudly wear a silk shantung sixties A-line coat just like this one, which comes in a size medium; I doubt she would have paid $27 for hers though.

This coat is such a classic. Can you imagine how chic it would look with a little bit of hemline peeking out underneath? It would be beyond...

Not many people know about one of Parker Posey's best roles ever. In the film The House of Yes she plays a fabulous albeit slightly deranged girl with a dangerous obsession with Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She demands to be called Jackie O, wears sharp little suits and tops them off with pill box hats. She ends up being a lunatic, but she's fabulous along the way. No wonder she emulated the iconic first lady; Jackie O was the cat's meow.

The widow of U.S. president John F. Kennedy, Jackie O, as the tabloids dubbed her, remains an American icon of high style and grace. From the aforementioned pill box hats, to mini shift dresses, to caftans, to flats, and who can forget her biggie O sunglasses, she has forever put her stamp on style. As well, she was no doubt the most fashion forward first ladies. Not only was she buds with Valentino, Gucci named the "Jackie" bag after her which sold a record 6,000 pieces when relaunched in 1999.

Known for her elegant sophistication and her historical interest in the White House, in 1968, five years after JFK's death, she married wealthy Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. After Onassis' death in 1975 - sad! - Jackie settled in Manhattan and began working as an editor for Doubleday, a job she continued until her death in 1994. She was buried next to Kennedy in Arlington National Cemetery. May her style, grace and strength live on.

Both Kelly Ripa and Eva La Rue own this dress and wear it well. Kelly paired hers with deep red peep toes, while Eva kept it simple in black jeweled sandals. Who do you think wore it better?

Like I mentioned before, this particular Black Halo Jackie O Dress, $305, is everywhere these days. I think it's coveted because it's modern and classic at the same time, and the asymmetrical neckline makes it one unique LBD. It's no wonder there's already a knockoff...

Steve Madden's Eyelet Sheath Dress, on sale for $105 (originally 158), is very similar to the Black Halo version. The only difference is the fabric, but I actually like the eyelet detail because it gives it some texture. Oh, and it's a tad shorter than the original version. Me likes!

Radio Show Halted After Having Girl Admit Her Rape On-Air

The Australian media is taking an irresponsible and extremely unsettling "joke" about rape seriously. The country's highest-rated morning show - "The Kyle and Jackie O Show" - has been canceled for now, after it had a 14-year-old girl submit to an on-air lie detector test during which she admitted to being raped. The host, Kyle Sandilands, has also been fired from his job as a judge on Australian Idol.

In the troubling segment, a 14-year-old girl was asked by her mother during a polygraph test whether she was sexually active. She answered that she had been raped, which her mother already knew. The host Kyle Sandilands then said: "Right, and is that the only sexual experience you've had."

Sandilands' co-host Jackie O then put a stop to the questioning because it had "crossed the line." She's not the only person who thinks so. Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has even weighed in, saying that he is "distressed" by the incident.

The show will be off the air pending a review. Do you think it should be canceled for good?

Back in my junior high years, backcombing was a very close personal friend of mine. How else was I to achieve claw bang perfection? Whether you call it teasing, ratting, or backbrushing, backcoming helps create volume, hide thin spots, and/or provides a base for updos. It can be extreme - think Lady Gaga - or it can be smooth and tame, like Jackie O. I particularly love teasing my locks when I'm headed out for a night of fun. What about you?
