I've come to accept that I will always get a little choked up during the Oscars. This year it happened during the touching tribute to John Hughes — director of one of my all-time favorites, The Breakfast Club. It was especially great to see actress Molly Ringwald take the stage to honor her mentor.

Last night's big winners went from accepting their awards on stage straight into the press room, where Sandra Bullock humbly spoke about her honor. Kathryn Bigelow was visibly moved after being the first female to pick up best director for The Hurt Locker, though she's looking forward to a day when gender becomes a moot point. Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal were flanking Geoffrey Fletcher, who picked up best screenplay for Precious.

This year at the Oscars, we spotted some of Hollywood's finest looking pretty in pink and purple. We love how Queen Latifah looked exquisite in a jewel-encrusted light purple frock; Vera Farmiga stunned in a bright fuchsia gown by Marchesa; and Jennifer Lopez shined in a light pink confection by Armani Prive. It's all very girlie with a glamorous touch.

Molly Ringwald and Matthew Broderick played beloved characters in John Hughes movies (Ringwald played multiple, in fact), and the actors took the stage to honor the life of the acclaimed director. After sharing a few memories, we were treated to a montage of some of Hughes's most famous movies from Ferris Bueller's Day off to The Breakfast Club and beyond. Afterward, more actors including Macaulay Culkin, Jon Cryer, and Ally Sheedy took the stage to add to the love.

Did anyone else love the John Hughes tribute? And how amazing does Molly Ringwald look?! Her purple haze gown is artful and modern, with statement jewels to match.

It was a close call, but most of you say that you embrace your freckles. Lots of stars are peppered with these sweet spots, and I've got photos to prove that freckles have a certain kind of magnetic charm.

I have dedicated not one but two FABTVs to The Breakfast Club. So yeah, it's a fave. It's no Sixteen Candles or Weird Science, but it's up there in Fab's John Hughes top three.

Continuing my fashion tributes to the late John Hughes's cinema style — Sixteen Candles fans enter here — Pretty in Pink was a modern fairytale. This time, Molly plays Andie, a fashion designing gal from the wrong side of the tracks. She has a secret crush on richie Blane, played by puppy dog faced Andrew McCarthy.
