Fab Flash: Marks and Spencers in Trouble Over TV Advert

Marks and Spencer have landed in hot water this festive season over their ad campaign below. The TV advert stars many British celebrities including Twiggy, Stephen Fry and Myleene Klass, but it's the appearance of Ashes to Ashes actor Philip Glenister which has ruffled feathers. The Advertising Standards Authority is reportedly looking in to complaints over the ad which has been branded as "sexist". At one point Glenister says, "Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without that girl prancing around in her underwear," before cutting to a shot of French lingerie model Noemie Lenoir.

A spokesperson for M&S told the BBC, "We're surprised by the ASA complaints regarding Philip Glenister's appearance in our TV ad. Our research shows that his on-screen character in Ashes to Ashes is extremely popular with our customers and his lines in the ad are in keeping with that role." Which Model Looks Most Fab at the amfAR Gala?

To help kick off New York Fashion Week, amfAR hosted a glamorous gala attended by a bevy of models. Doutzen Kroes struck a pose in a floaty red chiffon frock; Lily Donaldson wore a champagne gown with a unique black band; Jessica Stam stood regal in a slick black number with shimmery slices; Noemie Lenoir opted for a sexy red silk gown; and Anja Rubik played it pretty in an ethereal light lavender gown. They all deserve a standing ovation but which look reigned supreme?

Take That in M&S Christmas Ad: Love it or Leave it?

A couple of weeks ago I brought you the exciting news that Take That were to star in Marks and Spencer's Christmas advert. Well, the ad has finally hit our screens, with Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason joining M&S models Lily Cole, Erin O'Connor, Twiggy, Myleene Klass and Noemie Lenoir in a suitably festive advert. Feathers and Hotties at the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Let the pajama party begin. Plumage, perfectly toned (and tanned) bodies, sequins, lace, and ruffles, and, of course, Heidi Klum, all make up the holiday cocktail known as the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Victoria's Secret ignored economic uncertainty with a full-blown lingerie love affair at Miami's newest hot spot: The Fontainebleau hotel. When asked about this year's show, Ed Razek, VS’s president and chief marketing officer said, “Quite candidly, I think people are looking for a little escape right now." While many a celeb and pretty face turned out for not one, but two runway shows, there was more than enough escape to go around.The show will air on CBS on Dec. 3., but we've got the sparkly splendor for you now. With Usher performing, VS angels Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, and Miranda Kerr strutted their hot stuff, as well as high fashion models like Lara Stone, Julia Stegner, and Behati Prinsloo. It was refreshing to see a couple classic faces like Carmen Kass and Noemie Lenoir, too. Whatever your fantasy, these girls wore an outfit to fulfill it. From bedazzled bras - Adriana Lima wore the the $5 million black diamond bra - to black lace bodysuits, cozy cuties, sci-fi getups, and dramatic wings, Victoria's Secret brought it full force.

Take a Peek into Selita's and Noemie's Makeup Bags

Models Selita Ebanks and Noemie Lenoir (left to right) both looked beautiful at the recent premiere of Hotel Gramercy Park. I've chatted with both models before - Selita loves sports and Noemie turns out to be a bit of a romantic. And now I've got the scoop on what they used to get these movie-premiere looks. As a face of L'Oreal, Noemie uses plenty of products from this brand. She's a fan of L’Oreal Glam Shine Lipgloss in Princess & Prima Donna, and L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara. “Every morning and night I use the L’Oreal Normal Skincare Regimen," she says. "It includes Visibly Clean Foaming Creme Scrub Cleanser and Skin Renewing Toner, then I finish off with the Daily Moisture Lotion.”

Selita, a Victoria's Secret Angel, was minimal with her makeup for the premiere. She used Very Sexy Eyeliner in black velvet highlighted along her lids and the Very Sexy Mosaic eye shadow in Sultry for a naturally dark tint. Very Sexy lip gloss in Wet - her favorite shade - was slicked on her lips. She also used Very Sexy Mosaic Bronzer to even out the tones in her face and neck. To get her loose, tousled hairstyle, she curled it and then ran Victoria’s Secret So Sexy Shine Serum through to make it look shiny.

Celebrate Bastille Day With French Beauty Secrets!

Bonjour, mes amies! Since today is Bastille Day-the French national holiday-I thought it would be appropriate to talk about how les femmes françaises look the way they do. Think about some contemporary French beauties-Catherine Deneuve, Audrey Tautou, Juliette Binoche, Noémie Lenoir-and I think you'll agree that they are belle indeed.

Compared to the average American woman, our Gallic counterparts view investing in their appearance as an absolute necessity, not an optional luxury. They're more inclined to pamper themselves. Their biggest focus is on developing a beautiful, glowing complexion. French women of all economic means take pride in their skin, whether that means getting regular facials or buying the best moisturizer their budget allows. On a day-to-day basis, I've found that French women moisturize like you wouldn't believe. It's not as though you'll walk along the Seine and see women applying lotion in broad daylight, of course, but I've never met a French woman who didn't apply a cream every single night.

During my visits to Paris, I've noticed that fighting cellulite is a big deal for French women-much moreso than for Americans. Any Parisian drugstore is stocked with various creams, lotions and other products meant to minimize jiggle and orange-peel skin. Whether they work is beyond me, but sales are skyrocketing!

As far as makeup is concerned, the typical Parisienne favors a look that never tries too hard. The French are known for preferring a natural face over a "done" one. (Of course, there are exceptions, but even these are classy, not over-the-top.) While French women do wear makeup, they do so in a way that isn't necessarily obvious. So while you might start with foundation (again, to give a flawless-skin finish), you'd go easy on the blush, dab on some mascara and a light lip gloss. At night, you might favor a smoky eye or a bold red mouth, but never both together. Moins c'est plus: Less is more.

And finally, as my wonderful French professor once told our class, "Of course French women shave their underarms!" If you've been clinging to the "hairy Frenchie" stereotype, let that one go! Tell me: Have you been to France? Have you picked up any French beauty secrets?

Model of the Week: Noémie Lenoir

This week's Model of the Week is Noémie Lenior (pronounced lin-wah), a 5'10" green-eyed, French-born model and actress whose distinct look may be familiar to you.

The 27-year-old was discovered at the age of sixteen at a post office by a Ford Modeling Agent, but she didn't begin a serious career until she finished school.

In 1999 she moved to New York and has since worked with some of the most famous photographers in the world on campaigns for Victoria's Secret, Gap, Next, Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren Jeans, Pantene and Marks and Spencer. She has also appeared in Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, and Sports Illustrated and has walked in hundreds of fashion shows.

In 2001 Noémie signed with L'Oréal as their spokesmodel and has also taken a stab at acting. She has appeared in After the Sunset, a few French films and is currently filming Rush Hour 3.

NL: Alexander McQueen; we did one show where the runway was on top of a pool of water. It was very narrow and I had to walk in high heels.

Model of the Week: Noémie Lenoir

Welcome again to Model of the Week, where BellaSugar and famous models come together to talk beauty. This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Noémie Lenoir (pronounced "no-ay-mie lin-wah"). The 5'10" green-eyed model and actress was born on September 19th, 1979 in Les Ulis, just outside of Paris. Her father is French and her mother is from the French island of La Réunion.

At the age of 16, Noémie was discovered by a Ford modeling scout at a post office; however, she didn't begin a serious career until she finished school.

In 1999 she moved to New York, and since then she has worked with some of the most famous photographers in world. Her campaigns include high-profile clients such as Victoria's Secret, Gap, Next, Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren Jeans, Pantene and Marks and Spencer. She has also appeared in Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, and Sports Illustrated and has walked in hundreds of fashion shows.

In 2001 Noémie signed with L'Oréal as their spokesmodel and has also taken a stab at acting. She has appeared in After the Sunset, a few French films and is currently filming Rush Hour 3.

She also loves animals, horseback riding, swimming, shopping and spending time with her two-year-old son, Kelyan. Noémie could not be any more of a pleasure to work with, and we wish her all the best!

BELLASUGAR: What is your secret to beautiful skin and hair?

NOEMIE: I drink a lot of water and before I go to bed, I always clean and moisturize my face. My favorite cream is called Plenitude from L'Oreal (which has recently changed its name to L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise).

BELLA: What is the one product that you can't live without?

NL: My bronzing powder. Glam Bronze by L'Oreal.

BELLA: What is your guilty pleasure?

NL: Buying sexy lingerie.

Whose Fresh Faced Film Festival Look Do You Like Best?

With all of the glitz and glamour at the Cannes Film Festival, it's refreshing to see a few famous faces opt for the no-makeup makeup look. Don't get me wrong, these ladies attended last night's amFAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit looking lovely, poised and polished for the red carpet, however, they let their inner beauty do most of the work and chose a less is more style. I especially like Hayden Panettiere's bronzed glow and Noemi Lenoir's sheer, nude lip. Don't they make dressing up look so easy? Which Mediterranean makeup do you like most?

Has The Countdown Count Down Begun For M&S's Myleene?

Myleene Klass looked gorgeous as she giggled away with her fellow Marks & Spencer models Twiggy, Lily Cole, Erin O'Connor and Noemie Lenoir on location for an M&S photo shoot. While she's been busy working on images for the shop's Autumn/Winter catalogue, the rumour mill's been going in to overdrive about her future role. The former Hear'Say singer is being touted as the bookies' favourite to replace Carol Vorderman on Countdown, with Anthea Turner, Ulrika Jonsson, and Angela Rippon also reportedly in the running. With various celebrities speaking out about Carol's treatment, methinks whoever fills her shoes will have a bumpy ride ahead of them.
