Penn Gossips About Dating Costar Blake

Earlier this week Blake Lively was all wrapped up against the New York chill as she filmed new scenes for the third season of Gossip Girl, but last night she was glammed up for the Angel Ball in the city. Sporting a dress designed by Victoria Beckham - who's said to be making a cameo on the show - Blake was there alongside her boyfriend and costar Penn Badgley. Penn's spoken out about their relationship recently, admitting:

"Having a relationship with someone you work with might not always be the smartest move. But it's been wonderful to be in a relationship where we can both identify with what the other is experiencing."

It certainly seems to be working for them!

Jason Lewis Makes a Triumphant Return to Sex and the City!

Jason Lewis told us there was "a good chance" he'd be back in Sex and the City 2 - and apparently it's true, as he joined costars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall on set in NYC this morning! There were no signs of Kim in a wedding dress this time around, but it would be a thrill if famously single Samatha and Smith Jerrod tied the knot after all their ups and downs. We won't get to know the full plot until the movie hits screens next Spring, though it's fun now to speculate about what will happen for all the ladies in the next installment.

Fashion Weekend Bursts With Starlets, Famous Fashion Faces!

New York Fashion Week didn't slow down over the weekend, and the front rows were star-studded gearing up for last night's big event, the VMAs. Lindsay Lohan ducked into Alice + Olivia and Shenae Grimes, a sparkly Blake Lively, and Rachel Zoe all scored spots at the Diane von Furstenberg show on Sunday. Mischa stepped out for the Herve Leger show as well as to attend an event for The Beautiful Life. Rachel McAdams sat alongside Anna Wintour at Alexander Wang and posed with Leighton Meester backstage at Altuzarra. With so many big events taking place in New York, the fashionista stars were all over.

Hilary Duff and Amanda Bynes were front and center for the Herve Leger show, which is no big surprise considering how often they, especially Amanda, are seen wearing the ubiquitous bandage dresses. Kirsten Dunst mixed things up at Band of Outsiders, while Hayden Christensen was out without his fiance Rachel Bilson at Lacoste. SJP Has a Girly Weekend With Her Twins and Costars

Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon spent their Friday hard at work on Sex and the City 2 in NYC. Lucky for SJP, production on the film is taking place near her West Village home - making her commute pretty easy as a working mom. Her daughters Marion and Tabitha even made an appearance on Sunday, as the Summer headline babies took a walk with their nanny around the neighborhood.

SJP was back in a few old wardrobe favorites as she filmed, including the newsprint dress she wore during the show's run on HBO. When she wasn't alongside Cynthia, Sarah Jessica was joined on set by Chris Noth. Director Michael Patrick King and stylist Patricia Field were also on set, as the whole SATC gang gets back together.

Sarah Jessica and Chris Get Started On Sex and the City 2!

Carrie Bradshaw and Mr Big were back on the streets of New York City yesterday as production began on the anticipated Sex and the City 2! Sarah Jessica Parker had a variety of costume changes on the very first day, slipping on a purple dress, a white dress and a Flashdance-esque outfit while costume designer Patricia Field watched closely. Fab UK already has all the info on how to get the looks you see SJP wearing as Carrie! Mr Big aka Chris Noth was also on set, laughing with Sarah Jessica inbetween scenes. I am so excited to see these first shots of the cast filming the sequel - are you looking forward to more glimpses behind the scenes?

Shopaholic Designer Patricia Field Explains Shopping in Moderation

If the movie ticket price prevented you from seeing Confessions of a Shopaholic in the theaters, you may be excited to know the fun film came out on DVD today - an entertaining night doesn't get much cheaper than a $5 movie and homemade popcorn. In light of the movie making its way to more of the masses, the film's costume designer Patricia Field talked to Shape magazine about her tips for shopping with a budget. Anyone with an appreciation or affliction for shopping, take note.

When asked if she thinks certain items are worth a splurge, the accomplished designer replied:

It depends on what makes you happy. If you see something and you love it, but maybe it's a little more than you want to spend, then buy it. Just don't spend as much on the next item. It's all about balancing. You should splurge on what's really special. Really you're the most important thing, not the clothes.

Mary-Kate and Bar Welcome Matthew Williamson to NYC

NYC's fashionistas gathered on a boat last night to celebrate Matthew Williamson's collection for H&M stateside. Last week he was in London to launch his line with Sienna and Mischa, but this time he partied alongside Mary-Kate Olsen, Adrien Brody, Alexis Bledel and model Daria Werbowy. Bar Refaeli was out as well, taking a night off from posing in her own bikini designs. Matthew's pieces went on sale in the US last week, and Fab had all the details on the madness that went down here in SF.

Beyonce Gets Obsessed and Looks Toward Broadway

Beyonce Knowles showed off her legs in an LBD with a transforming train at her Obsessed premiere in NYC last night. Her costar Ali Larter smiled brightly in white, and Kim Kardashian looked tanned after her bikini vacation in Mexico. Jay-Z slipped in to join his wife for the screening and afterparty. Beyonce's schedule is full right now with her new film and her tour kicking off in Croatia this weekend, but she already has her eye on the future. She recently revealed she's interested in Broadway, saying:

"I'll be able to go to the theater every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food - maybe I'll know how to cook by then - and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule. I definitely want to do Broadway."

Sounds like Beyonce is not only thinking of her career but her future family with Jay-Z, though it doesn't sound like she's ready to stay in one place for too long just yet.

Confessions of a Styleaholic, Part II

You ready for more? I've already heard accolades about Confessions of a Shopaholic - out this Friday. I hope you read the first part of my interview with costume designer Patricia Field, and here's more!

Before we begin, want to know how Isla felt about working with the flame-haired stylist? At a press conference she dished: "Patricia was extremely collaborative, and I only had one request, which was that I wanted Becky to wear extremely high heels so she could totter. I think there’s nothing funnier than a comedic character tottering and the impracticality of wearing something that clearly doesn’t fit her and is uncomfortable but she’s a shopaholic so she has to have it. And Patricia really is so creative, and she clearly knows what she’s talking about. She’s extremely experienced. So I, I kind of let go and let her guide me, and I really enjoyed the process. At the beginning I couldn’t believe we were spending 40 minutes discussing a belt. I was so frustrated. But halfway through I just felt like I began to understand that there really is sort of a science to it. It is this incredible world of people trying really hard." What are Rebecca Bloomwood’s favorite stores to shop at?

"The designer stores but also downtown in small vintage shops. Uptown, downtown. She shops everywhere. She goes to the airport and shops in the duty-free. Every opportunity she gets."

What was it like working with Isla?

"Isla was fun because she got it and she likes clothes. She looks good in clothes; she got it intellectually. She understood it; she was great to work with. I can’t do it unless we understand each other. It’s definitely a dance. With Isla it was immediate. She was very involved. That’s very important for me. I’m dressing a person, not a mannequin."

She’s very tiny, she has long red hair - did you take that into consideration?

"I think redheads can wear any color."

What’s your advice to redheads who think they’re limited?

"Their limitation is in their own mind and my advice is to think of their red hair as a strawberry in a bowl of fruit. Blueberries, strawberries, oranges, apples, they’re all shades of reds and oranges. Does that bowl of fruit not look great together?"

What is your advice for shopaholics out there?

"Find a rich husband."

Can anyone be cured?

"I don’t think it’s an affliction as long as you can handle it. As long as you can handle it, do whatever makes you happy. Be responsible for what you’re doing and have a good time. Rebecca works it out in the end."

If you are a shopaholic and you’re trying to take a break (ahem), what are some key items you should have in your wardrobe? What can make someone feel like they’re always stylish?

"Have classics and buy new accessories. It’s with your accessories you can make a new look."

Was this wardrobe bigger than the SATC movie?

"I don’t think so. All the movies I do are voluminous. That’s my specialty: Volume fashion. Fashion by the tons."
