Very Funny Cast Signs Up For Mottola's Paul

So much about this movie news is exciting. First, we've got a great, funny director in Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland). Secondly, there's a script written by the excellent and hilarious British duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced). And now, there's a great group of comedic actors rounding out the cast: Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, and Jane Lynch (I love that she keeps getting more projects these days!). Here's more on the project, titled Paul:

Pegg and Frost, who wrote the script, will play two science-fiction fanatics on a road trip whose conspiracy dreams come true when they trek to Area 51 and encounter the title character, an escaped alien. Rogen will provide the voice of the alien.

It's not my ultimate comedic dream team, but I see nothing wrong at all with this group of funny people. I can't wait for Paul to invade theaters. Oh man, that's terrible. That's it. I'm done!

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Working on American Road Trip Movie

Oh, how I love these guys! Anyone who has seen Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz is probably familiar with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's hilarious, satiric ways, and fans of the duo will be happy to know that they're back at work on another comedy. This time the premise and location are both distinctly American. Pegg wouldn't reveal too much to MTV Movies Blog, but he did say this: "It's called Paul and it’s a road movie about two British geeks in America."

Also, as a twist on their usual relationship in their films, Pegg won't be playing the one ranking on Frost's character all the time. According to Pegg, "I'm the bitch in this one. This time Simon’s the bitch!"

I love these guys. I was so looking forward to seeing Pegg soon in Run, Fat Boy, Run alongside Hank Azaria, but apparently the film's release date has been moved from October to March. One website has a supposed quote from Pegg stating that the weekend in October when Fat Boy was supposed to open proved too risky with Steve Carell's Dan in Real Life also coming out. I'm so bummed by this news! I was looking forward to watching that fat boy run next month.

Taylor Swift Sends Mixed Messages About Taylor Lautner

Following her big win at the CMA Awards in America last week, greeting cards designer Taylor Swift looked cute as she made her way around London yesterday, wearing a red hat during the day and then returning to her hotel in the evening with a Topshop bag. She appeared on the Paul O'Grady Show yesterday and didn't give a straight answer when quizzed about her relationship with Taylor Lautner: check out the full interview and her performance of "Fifteen" after the jump. However, in an interview in the latest issue of InStyle US she told a different story, saying: "I'm in the mind-set where I choose to be single - like I got to light scented candles and write in my diary and I wouldn't have time for that if I had a boyfriend right now!" We've seen the Taylors together in LA and Chicago, so what do you think is happening?

Tom Works Night and Day While Suri Shops With Katie

Katie Holmes left Long Island, where she had been working on The Romantics and headed into NYC for a weekend with Suri. The girls were out to see The Lion King on Friday night, with little Suri looking sleepy as they left the theater together. Saturday brought a few long walks with Katie's mom, and Suri showed off her red dress from the children's Holmes and Yang and green backpack. Isabella Cruise joined them yesterday for a trip to the ballet, when Suri broke out a pair of bright rain boots despite the sunny day.

Tom, meanwhile, is still in Austria filming Knight and Day. His Friday night was a late one, as he took to a roof to film a dramatic looking action scene with Cameron Diaz. They continued on into Saturday with their work, though Cameron took the evening off to attend a Mozart recital at a local church with their costar Paul Dano.

Fab Blab: Sir Paul Smith on the Fashion Industry

Sir Paul Smith is the latest designer to speak out about the way the fashion industry works. In an interview with The Telegraph the British designer has slated fashion shows calling them “time consuming and costly”.

Smith has been a key fixture of London fashion week for many years and always attracts an impressive front row. He said,

"I've always preferred the creative process of designing and selling clothes to the idea of putting on a poncey fashion show. It would be wonderful if fashion shows died out completely. They're so time-consuming and costly."

Smith heralds from Nottingham and began from a very humble background. It seems he is not impressed by the pretension of some designers.

"It's their 15 minutes of fame: pure, self-indulgent theatre. How many girls were there this year in horns or neck braces with bare breasts? It wouldn't matter if they didn't take it all so seriously, but the fashion world is a dangerous, superficial and fickle place."

Would You Like a Hug From a Paul Mitchell Stylist?

Tomorrow, Paul Mitchell's stylist schools are having Free Hugs Day, where they'll send students from more than 100 of their locations out on the street to offer passers-by free hugs. They'll be dressed in their black Paul Mitchell outfits, so if you see someone all in black with great hair hugging tons of people, don't be alarmed. It's all inspired by the Free Hugs campaign. My question is, do you like getting hugs from strangers? Some people love hugging in general, while others aren't such big fans, and a hug from someone you've never met is utterly different for many people from one given by a loved one. What do you think? Will you be wanting a free hug, or giving it a pass?

Paul Costelloe has been opening London Fashion Week for six seasons and Spring 2010 was no exception. He began proceedings with an architectural inspired collection with futuristic shapes. At least three of Paul's six sons were proudly chatting backstage whilst their father charmed the press.

Rihanna and Katy Keep the Paris FW Seats Filled

Paris Fashion Week rolled into the weekend and continued to draw a star-studded crowd to the runways. Katy Perry showcased a handful of looks while Rihanna kept her all-black streak. The girls checked out Jean-Paul Gaultier on Saturday and Karl Lagerfeld earlier today although they split up for the Sunday shows. Mary-Kate Olsen and her boyfriend Nate went to the Giambattista Valli Pret a Porter runway this morning while Gwyneth Paltrow, who wore ankle length jeans, flew in from London to support her good friend Stella McCartney. The city is still full of celebrities flocking to check out the latest fashions although not all shows are getting great reviews.
