Oct 27 2009 - 6:50am FashionSheSays screams vintage vixen today. The Ralph Lauren vibe she's exuding is refreshingly Fall, and I love how she's simultaneously polished and disheveled. Note her fearless fabric mixing.
The look is quite well put together, but does there really have to be fur in it? I wouldn't mind faux fur, but that's unlikely in vintage items. When you decide to wear fur - no matter how
old - please realize that you are helping to promote an extremely vicious, heartless, greedy industry, that skins animals alive after keeping them in tiny filthy cages. Do you really want
that hanging around your neck?
Noodle, what would you prefer people do with used or vintage fur items? Should they be burned? You are not directly supporting the fur industry when you buy something vintage with fur. You
are supporting the second hand industry, which is actually very environmentally sound and reduces your carbon footprint.
Go vintage! I find the materials and fit on so many vintage things to be superior to current offerings. It's not all polyester out there! Lots of lovely wools and silks. The fur goes so well
with her hair color and of course I love the tweedy jacket.
Like another poster said, if she's buying vintage fur, she's not supporting the current fur market, she's supporting small businesses (the actual vintage shop where she bought it), and she's
staying green while doing it. So not only is this outfit cute, it's environmentally and economically friendly.
I love this look - only way to improve it would be fake fur (I personally don't wear fake or real furt) - but at least it's "recycled" fur. It looks straight out of a magazine page.
