In honor of Independence Day, I'm bringing you some twists on the iconic emblems that represent this holiday. You won't have to store these in the garage, though, once July 4th is over. It's fitting that one of my favorite striped finds is the French Six Leg Upholstered Bench ($599), since France was our ally in the Revolutionary War.

The cotton flatweave Madeline Weinrib Zig Zag Rug is one of my all-time favorite designs (see it in a room here), but unfortunately it's also quite pricey — if you must "inquire for price," don't bother. Luckily, there are two much more affordable alternatives. To see them, read more

I love my girl Cameron and this is a fine example as to why. She stands out on the blue carpet in a horizontal stripe, black and red dress that manages to be both ladylike and modern. Round toe patent pumps and cool black jewelry round things out.

The opposing force of Luxotica is Geo Max. For the rare days I'm not feeling like an island girl and want to be serious, graphic prints, stripes, 3-D shapes, and polka dots will modernize my look. Most of these equations came in black and white, with the occasional blue, but one of my favorite Spring collections — Dries Van Noten — delivered it in marigold.
