Nicolas Cage has said, "There's a very fine line between Method actor and schizophrenic." In Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, he teeters that line maniacally, with an ever-increasing slur and crooked swagger. Cage plays Terence McDonagh, a detective in post-Katrina New Orleans investigating a drug-related murder and his personal threshold for cocaine and heroin.

Having dazzled in a red and black animal print dress at the opening of the Venice Film Festival last week, Eva Mendes was busy with three outfit changes on Friday as she premiered Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans. She posed in a polka dot dress for the photocall with costar Nicolas Cage and director Werner Herzog, before changing into a black number for the premiere, where she was joined by Paris Hilton and Dough Reinhardt plus Melanie Brown and Stephen Belafonte, who produced the film. Mel had a fab time in Italy, saying: "Venice is so romantic, I've loved every minute of it!"

Eva Mendes has been busy this weekend promoting her latest movie The Bad Lieutenant at Venice Film Festival. The face of Calvin Klein attended three different promotional events showing off varying frocks from her designer wardrobe. From a Armani Prive ribbon dress, to an Alberta Ferretti teal tasseled frock to a navy blue Dior number, which ensemble do you think is the most fab?

Eva Mendes never disappoints with her sleek and sophisticated red carpet ensembles. At the Bad Lieutenant photo call in Venice, the actress radiated in a black-and-white polka-dot dress and fun heels. Her dress is cute enough to stand on its own, but I love how she accessorized with a white watch and skinny belt for extra spunk.

Mel B hit the red carpet last night for the London premiere of Bad Lieutenant. The Spice Girl was there to support her producer beau Stephen Belafonte and they posed together as they arrived. Mel wore a black silk super short playsuit with fish net tights and suede heels.

Matt Dillon and Taraji P. Henson were up to announce the 2010 Independent Spirit Awards nominations this morning in LA, and the nominees are making me smile: Precious is represented in almost every major category, with nods for the director, actresses, screenplay, and film. And though they're yet to be released, both The Last Station and A Single Man won several nominations, which is only upping my anticipation for them.

Paillette alert! Eva Mendes attended the Hollywood screening of The Bad Lieutenant wearing a Chris Benz multicolored, plunging paillette dress from his Spring '10 collection and Brian Atwood pumps. The dress is definitely eye-catching — different than what we're used to seeing her in.

Eva Mendes wore a gorgeous animal print dress as she took to the red carpet at the opening ceremony of Venice International Film Festival yesterday. She was adventurous with her accessories too: Bella UK wants to know do you love or hate her jewelled Alice band? Eva was in a flirty mood again and blew kisses to the crowds and the cameras.

If you haven't already booked your tickets for this week's UK opening of The Dark Knight then I urge you to do so, because I'm going to add my voice to the chorus shouting that this film is something special. Just so you know my stance on these movies, I didn't think that Batman Begins was anything more than a competent film, and – though the trailers for this one were fantastic – with the running time at over two and a half hours I was worried it would be patchy. It wasn't.
