After the Alice + Olivia Spring 2014 presentation, Taylor Momsen took some time out to chat with us all about fashion and music. She told us why she chose the little black dress she wore, who her fashion icons are, and how music influences her style. Get the full scoop here!
Oscar de la Renta's clothes are far too beautiful to ever be reduced to simple themes, but his Spring 2014 collection — filled as it was with his glamourous, colorful clothing — took a little inspiration from the Elizabethan era.
The designer told WWD that a portrait he owns of two noblewomen named Anne and Mary Fitton was in the back of his mind when he designed this collection. It wasn't the most obvious starting point for a collection that featured floral, polka-dotted A-line dresses and more circle skirts than you could shake a stick at, but you get the feeling that a Queen Elizabeth I wouldn't have said no to the lace collars and ruffs, elaborate embroideries, and the copious strands of pearls that came down the runway.

Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet showed her whimsical, statement-making Spring 2014 collection on Monday, and we were there — along with stars like Jamie Chung, Nicky Hilton, and Taylor Momsen — to take in the "preppy-meets-pretty" pieces in person. During the presentation, we caught up with Stacey to talk about her inspiration for the season, which "renaissance woman" she's excited to dress, and the craziest thing that's ever happened to her during Fashion Week (hint: her answer might get under your skin). Naeem Khan is launching bridal this October, and the announcement cast a wide shadow over the rest of his Spring 2014 collection, where lacy gowns were de rigueur. Aside from the finale wedding dress, presented dramatically with veil and bouquet, there was lots of lace and feminine hues that ranged from blush pink to rose red (with the actual blooms embroidered on many a piece). It was a ladylike dresser's dream — we spotted more than one gown practically begging for some quality time with Kate Middleton. See the pretty looks we fell for by clicking through here.
Just like us, celebrities love to take pictures of their favorite new purchases and share them with their followers. Case in point: Beyoncé's public obsession with Topshop. The best part about them sharing their sartorial scores is that we can get our hands on them too! So far, we're coveting Beyoncé's Illvesta round sunglasses, Vanessa Hudgens's sweet dress, and Cara Delevingne's McQ by Alexander McQueen sweater. Head inside to see — and snag! — exact celebrity pieces straight from their social media snaps.
Fashion loves a good mashup, but when Jenny Packham's show notes for her Spring 2014 presentation promised a "'70s take on austere Edwardian attire," we were skeptical. Then we saw the first look, a mustard yellow shift dress embellished with traditional silver marbles and pearls, and got the idea.
Watching this runway, it was hard not to squint and imagine Kate Middleton, a faithful customer of the British designer, wearing the gowns. We see her most in the long-sleeved baby blue dress with a tulle overlay of soft pink stripes of Swarovski beading. And the dusty peach silk gown cinched with a marching satin ribbon. And, maybe if the duchess is so bold, the spearmint off-the-shoulder leotard with that sheer leg moment. Now that would be quite the Packham mashup.
Jessica Alba took a break from all the fabulous New York Fashion Week festivities to grab some coffee in the city. For her daytime stroll, the actress ditched the usual skinny jeans in lieu of a pair of wide-leg Goldsign denim. On top she tucked a red tank into them, then added a lighter-wash chambray shirt for a denim-on-denim creation. For her accessories, Jessica went with Ray-Ban Clubmasters, a skinny striped belt, and striped platform sandals. Re-create Jessica's latest NYC look for your weekend errands and coffee run — it'll lend you cool with a side of comfy. Shop similar pieces below to get started.
