There are few award shows that get us as excited as the American Music Awards! Musicians sure know how to bring the drama, and 2013 did not disappoint in the fashion department. Skin was in –– revealing cutouts, sheer dresses, and risqué performance attire turned heads left and right –– but who topped our best-dressed list? Find out now, and let us know who you loved in the comments below.
Gwen Stefani's never been one to shy away from a fashion challenge, and this look is no different. She streamlined the getting-dressed process by doing the adult version of a onesie, picking a denim jumpsuit from Hatch (available to shop here) that she covered up with a long black Smythe tuxedo jacket. For shoes, she picked black ankle boots from AllSaints with a menswear-inspired tassel. It was her other accessories that pushed the envelope more — she opted for blue-lensed sunglasses and a tartan chain-strap bag from Vivienne Westwood. It's a lot of look to pull off together, but Gwen makes for a mighty good inspiration. Shop it all here.

The sensible dresser would balk at this outfit written down: neon with print with bright blue with a textured coat? It gives you vertigo just typing the words. Still, when we saw it all paired together on fashion editor J.J. Martin, we were pleasantly surprised. The neon acted as a neutral tucked into a statement pencil skirt, and a pale topper kept the overall effect light and bright (unlike a black or navy coat, which would've quickly weighed the whole thing down). She didn't play it safe with her accessories, either, using them to add extra bright doses. Instead of picking somber colors, it was vivid blue and cranberry for her bag and fur scarf, respectively. And the pumps, while nude, felt special thanks to a studded ankle strap. Want to re-create the entire look (or select pieces)? We've shopped it out below.
It's not just about what the women wear on the red carpet, at least not when Justin Timberlake shows up. At last night's American Music Awards, he had us glued to our screens, and it wasn't all about those handsome good looks or his crowd-raising performance: that man can wear a suit! We're celebrating his latest sartorial success with a look back at the suave star's most dapper looks. Among the "Suit & Tie" combos, there are dressed-down styles that make us swoon. Click through to see how the fashionable singer brought sexy back time and time again!
Rihanna was in a noir mood, picking black for both of the outfits she wore at tonight's American Music Awards. First, the pop star took to the stage in a long, sheer skirt and a bralet top that was the most cropped of all tops we've seen recently. To accept a second award — the show's first-ever icon award — from her mom, she was more covered up in a floor-sweeper with a ruffle straight down the front (accessorized with an even sparklier choker). Which look is your favorite?

The 2013 American Music Awards brought out the crème de la crème of musical (and sartorial) talent, but only one star can be crowned queen. Katy Perry was the first to hit the red carpet, setting the bar high in a dramatic Oscar de la Renta creation. Nicole Richie oozed sexy sophistication in a daring Emilio Pucci, while Taylor Swift went for the gold in a Julien Macdonald mini. Ciara put her perfectly sculpted goodies on display in a sheer J. Mendel, and Zoe Saldana looked every bit the A-list movie star that she is in a mixed-print Roland Mouret masterpiece. With these beauties running as top contenders in this year's style battle royal, it's going to be hard to choose, but you must. Cast your vote for 2013 AMAs best dressed below!

Hunting for the perfect sexy dress can leave a girl feeling a little like Goldilocks — this neckline's too low, that hemline's too high, and this one's too tight! If any of these woes sound familiar, we have to ask: have you considered going backless?
The sexy style is sultry and flashes just the right amount of skin. Case in point: Hayden Panettiere's Bec & Bridge dress at the (RED) auction over the weekend, which complemented the sheer neckline with a dramatic cutout on the back. It's quickly becoming our favorite way to bring the element of surprise into a holiday party outfit. Want to show a little less skin than Hayden? Some of our favorite options, included here, look downright demure from the front.
