Kohl's internationally inspired designer collaborations have taken its customers to Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro, but its latest partnership with Catherine Malandrino is all about Paris.

"Every woman in America has a French dream in her head, especially a Parisian one," the designer told WWD. "I feel every city has a soul. New York is all about transformation. Paris is all about timeless propositions."

The 80-piece collaboration, part of Kohl's relatively new DesigNation partnership program, is set to bring a few of those propositions to Kohl's 1,100 stores in late September and early October. Everything in the offering, which will range in price from $36 to $130, takes inspiration from things spotted in Paris. A black-and-white striped cardigan was inspired by the Columns of Buren, and the design of an iron gate at the Parc Monceau became a jacquard print.

Malandrino is the third designer to create a capsule collection for Kohl's, following Narciso Rodriguez and Derek Lam. A look at her first sketch from the collection here in the gallery.

Catherine Malandrino's beauty look for Fall 2013 followed the motto: vive la France! The hair was flat and flowy with a hidden surprise underneath, while the makeup by MAC pulled from various beige tones for a minimalist effect.

Catherine Malandrino's consummately chic Parisian girl is taking on Spring 2013 with a lighter palette (read: pastel hues and white made the cut) and a vested interest in nailing the details. No texture was off-limits, either. Fishnet stockings complemented colorful patent leather pumps, scalloped edges made their way onto minty green jackets and slim pencil skirts, and embroidered mesh was layered over delicate blouses, to start.
