>> Ann-Sofie Back debuted her fourth collection as Cheap Monday creative director last week during Stockholm Fashion Week. "It's about the time when our parents were young and rebellious, an idealistic time," Back explained of the light, bright, and striped Spring 2012 collection. "The styling is a punk clash, we've mixed up the styling. It's very much a DIY attitude and a punk attitude, being young, naïve and playful."
Look We Love – Bundled Chic

>> A bundled ensemble doesn't have to look bulky, as exemplified by this street-snapped cutie from Amsterdam. Her chill-fighting outfit, comprised of an oversized wool camel coat, grey blazer, stripped top, black skinnies, and a super cozy scarf, is tempting us to leave our warm abodes for a stroll outside. Replicate the same cold weather look with items from Cheap Monday, Mango, ASOS, and Saint James.
Left to right: Mango Wool Camel Coat ($242), CC Skye Cross Wrap Around Ring ($41), Saint James Minquiers 10 Nautical Shirt ($75), Yossi Scarf ($90, originally ($180), Dolce Vita Mid Calf Napa Boot ($155, originally $210), Cheap Monday Jeans ($65), ASOS Boyfriend Blazer ($95)

Look We Love – Oversized Sweaters and Pom Beanies

This street-snapped cutie is showing off her love for sweater weather and we're feeling it. Her oversized striped knit sweater fends off the cold winds, while a black mini adds peeks from underneath. Conceptual wedge booties from Jeffrey Campbella and sweet pom beanie add the perfect finishing touch. Nab the same look with exact and similar picks from Topshop, Thakoon, Jeffrey Campbell, and Aldo.
Left to right: Forever 21 Chunky Knit Beanie ($7), Thakoon Draped Skirt ($150, originally $380), Aldo Knit Scarf ($22), Ice White Diamond Skull Pendant ($495), Gap White Socks ($6), Jeffrey Campbell Wedge Bandit Bootie ($155), Cheap Monday Knit Dress ($57, originally $95)

The Look For Less: Alexander Wang Shoulder Cutout Tee
Sometimes sex appeal is all in the details. Case in point: this slinky T by Alexander Wang Shoulder Cutout Tee ($95). I swooned when I first saw the silhouette — oh so sexy, but not overly; after all, it's still a tee. And that's when I realized I couldn't justify nearly $100 on a t-shirt, no matter how hard I was crushing. So began the search for something more in my price range.

The Look For Less: Cheap Monday Black Open-Knit Sweater
Being sexy during Winter can be difficult. After all, layers upon layers conceal your bod. This Cheap Monday Black Open-Knit Sweater ($75) puts an end to that theory. How hot is the sporty peek-a-boo bra effect? The price isn't that bad, but I discovered a similar version for way less.

Melrose Place Style: Violet Foster
Violet Foster strikes a pose while painting a portrait, managing to look seductive in the most boyish of outfits. Her plaid flannel shirt and graphic tee work well with a pair of tight black skinny jeans, and although she's not wearing any shoes, these Minnetonka booties would be a great addition to the outfit. Shop it all now!

Celeb Style: Sienna Miller
Sure Sienna looks casual strolling along Bondi Beach in Australia (lucky). But what keeps her gray layers and stonewashed blue jeans from being schlumpy is her polished Rupert Sanderson Joyce Oxfords (approximately $487). Small round shades, a cross necklace, and her favorite gray Yves Saint Laurent bag are total Sienna personal touches. Casual chic at its best.

First Look: Ann-Sofie Back at Cheap Monday for Spring 2010
>> After ten years of being based in London, Ann-Sofie Back got married, returned to Stockholm, and added a new design responsibility — not only is she doing her eponymous line, but she signed up to be creative director at Cheap Monday in May: "It was a happy coincidence that when I moved back to Stockholm to be with my husband this job should come up. Cheap Monday is a great brand and some things are just meant to be!" She's leaving the denim to founder Orjan Andersson, but was brought on to "create a stronger identity on anything that is not denim." On Monday in Stockholm, she unveiled her first collection for the brand — for Spring 2010 — with Caroline Winberg opening the show.
Sophia Kokosalaki Is Doing Denim for Diesel Black Gold
>> First Ann-Sofie Back signs on as head designer to help Cheap Monday branch out from its denim roots, and now Sophia Kokosalaki is joining Diesel Black Gold in a lead design role: is this a trend coming on, name designers helping to restructure denim brands?
Black Gold is Diesel's high-end contemporary line, and Kokosalaki is being brought in to overhaul the brand — which is not showing a Spring 2010 collection at New York Fashion Week this September as it typically would — starting with the relaunched Fall 2010 collection next February. Kokosalaki nearly always wears black and denim herself, and Diesel chairman Renzo Rosso has full faith in her "incredible" talent and "skill in dealing with denim and contemporary casual, the core of Diesel Black Gold." The position is quite a change from her stint as creative director of French house Vionnet.
Rosso bought a majority stake in Kokosalaki's namesake line last year, and her new position at Diesel has allowed her to acquire her label back from Rosso for an undisclosed sum. She plans to continue to develop the line independently.
