When Emma Roberts paired a light blue Emilio Pucci dress with bright red pumps at the Emily & Meritt For PBteen launch event in LA last night, we instantly became smitten with her unexpected color combination and knew we had to try it out for ourselves. The fashion world is no stranger to unique color mixes, and this one is just another way to stand out from the crowd. The typical thing to do would have been to wear nude or black pumps, but the pop of red took Emma's ensemble to head-turning heights. The great thing about this color duo is that you can totally translate it to everyday, too. We recommend rocking light blue denim with red flats, a red pencil skirt and a blue blazer, a blue sweater with a red leather skirt, and so on. Ready to embrace light blue and red à la Emma Roberts? If there's one trend emerging on the Milan runways, it's an easy, breezy beauty look, like the one seen at Emilio Pucci's Spring 2014 show. Models wore their hair deeply parted to the side, with a decent dose of tousled texture added in for a devil-may-care effect. Makeup and nails were kept neutral. It was all very wearable — just like the variety of silhouettes, patterns, and color motifs featured in the collection.
Peter Dundas has never been one to shy away from pattern or color, and he infused heavy doses of both into Emilio Pucci's Spring 2014 collection. The designer stitched together a number of references — including some distinctly tribal motifs, hip-hop street wear, athletic gear, and '80s club attire — into a lineup of vibrant and delightfully incongruous pieces.
To wit: Dundas gave us basketball shorts (the abbreviated ones from the '70s, not today's long mesh affairs) cut from a silver material with a mirrorlike finish. He took the toughness out of a leather shirt with sparkly embroidery and beading, and he elevated what would have been a standard blue tracksuit by covering it with sequins and leaving on its sporty zippers.
A crop top contingency on the red carpet is nothing new — the trend's been hanging out for a while, most recently embraced with open arms by Lily Collins. Tonight's MTV VMAs featured three women rocking the look: Miley Cyrus, Shailene Woodley, and Chilli of TLC (aka Rozonda Thomas). Each lady rocked black, though Chilli was the only one to keep it to one color: Miley went heavy on the embellishments, and Shailene's Emilio Pucci Resort 2014 look included a printed mini finished off with Casadei pumps.

We can't get enough of Zoe Saldana's always on-point red carpet looks for the Star Trek Into Darkness promotional tour, but we also welcome her casual approach to making the daytime press rounds. En route to an interview at The Grove in LA, the actress supplied us with not one but two inspirational shorts ensembles. The first one was by Emilio Pucci: a turquoise printed silk top and crisp matching shorts, both from the Fall 2013 collection. The other — a dusty-rose lace blouse with white shorts, both by Dolce & Gabbana — was entirely dainty. Zoe completed both styles with the same pair of turquoise peep-toe pumps for that unexpected pop of color. We've pulled together some Saldana-inspired outfits to get you inspired to make shorts a style mainstay. Shop our picks below.
As the Star Trek Into Darkness promo tour unfolds, we're privy to double the leading-lady glamour, all thanks to Zoe Saldana and Alice Eve. Zoe's latest ensemble — a floral-printed Antonio Berardi suit in a black and white palette — is far less fancy than her red-carpet styles, but just as impressive. Before that, at the Mexico City premiere, Zoe stunned in a white Elie Saab jumpsuit, while Alice took a darker approach in her sheer Gucci LBD. Before that, both starlets stunned all over Europe in a mix of Vionnet, Calvin Klein, Balmain, Reem Acra, and Emilio Pucci. To stay caught up on it all, keep clicking.
