From hitting New York Fashion Week's front rows to making Toronto Film Festival appearances and attending movie premieres, it was a busy week for our favorite style setters. Three of our favorites — Julianne Moore, Olivia Wilde, and Marion Cotillard — delivered high drama in beautiful gowns. Julianne was subtly sexy in a black sheer dress, Olivia popped in bright yellow, and Marion stayed loyal to the House of Dior in a lacy high-low number. Head inside to see them, and the other best-dressed celebrities of a very fashionable week.
James Franco exercises his acting talent in his latest Gucci ad, a short dubbed Made to Measure. In the the one-minute film, named after the fashion house's new scent, Made to Measure ($88), Franco speeds throughout LA in a dreamlike sequence. "The story is about a man who travels who's trapped inside the bottle and he wants to get out. And once he's out, he becomes fragrant; he becomes like fantasy," director Nicolas Winding Refn explained in a behind-the-scenes video (below) of the shoot.
The spicy oriental, which is made to complement Gucci Première ($63) for women, contains notes such as bergamot, orange flower, aniseed, and French lavender at the top; nutmeg, juniper berry, plum, cinnamon, and water lily in the middle; and patchouli, leather, amber, and cistus labdanum at the base. And just like a well-dressed man in a fine suit, this highly masculine scent, much like the video short that touts it, is as sophisticated as it is alluring.
It's been awhile since we've seen Julia Roberts grace the red carpet, so when we spotted her in a ravishing Dolce & Gabbana dress at the Toronto International Film Festival, we did a double, nay, triple take. The actress turned up in Canada to help promote her flick, August: Osage County, and made quite the entrance in red lace. We love that she chose such a bright look for her comeback but that she then tamed it with nude accessories: a Gucci lizard box clutch and triple-strap peep-toe patent leather platform sandals also by Gucci. Now that Julia Roberts is back in the spotlight — and in such a bold way — take a good look, and tell us what you think of her ensemble.
Between New York Fashion Week kicking off and two world premieres, this week looked exceptionally sleek in the land of celebrity style. Two colors that really rocked the red carpet hard were black and white. Naomi Watts stunned in a white Versace gown at the Diana premiere, while Scarlett Johansson was a beauty in a black Versace at the Under the Skin premiere in Venice. But fret not, color lovers — there were a few pops of eye-catching brights. Click through to see our top choices, and then let us know if you agree!
The London premiere of Rush, starring Chris Hemsworth and Olivia Wilde, brought out a trio of impressive style mavens. Clad in a one-of-a-kind black Gucci tuxedo, Wilde proved that menswear can be 100 percent feminine, while Naomi Campbell also stuck to the dark hue in a little black cutout dress with caged sandals. Poppy Delevingne — one of our favorite Fashion Week street-style stars — opted for an embellished checkered minidress and matching blue satin pumps. All three beauties gave us a serious style rush, but which look rocked your world?
Proving an eco-friendly handbag can look like something you'd find on Madison Avenue, rather than something you'd find at a roadside stand, is the Gucci for the Green Carpet Challenge. The luxury brand partnered with Green Carpet Challenge creator Livia Firth and the National Wildlife Federation to make the same gorgeous accessories you're used to seeing, but this time with guaranteed zero deforestation. The bags, seen above and below, are made with leather from the Brazilian Amazon that is totally traceable from source to finished product while also being ruled by Gucci's regular quality standards.
The meeting of two worlds can be a beautiful thing. See shopping information below should you want to show your support (and update your accessory closet).

Salma Hayek popped by David Letterman's NYC studios to promote her new movie Grown Ups 2 and brought along with her two totally different looks. One was a flirty floral Gucci dress with a sheer neckline, which she paired with ankle-strap wedge Gucci sandals for a summery approach. The other fast-forwarded her look straight into Fall, with a tough black leather minidress. This time, she finished it off with a pair of platform pumps featuring cool Lucite heels. No doubt about it, Salma pulled off both dresses effortlessly, but which do you prefer?
