And we say this because once you take a closer look at its très chic contents within, you'll understand. Inside awaits a perfectly unkempt Lou Doillon — shot by Garance Doré, no less — hanging in her Parisian neighborhood (Bastille, in case you were wondering), styled up in a mix of classic stripes, high-waisted denim, and boho knits. Then, with just a blank NYC studio backdrop, photographer Chadwick Tyler snapped blond beauty Dree Hemingway in the season's coolest hippie-chic wares, all of which we now want. So, why exactly is this the perfect kind of Fashion Week coincidence? We're pretty sure Lou and Dree embody everything we love about that French brand's effortlessly cool style, the kind of style we're excited to spot outside the shows. Free People assembled a trio of fashion's coolest women, including Garance Doré, Lou Doillon, and Dree Hemingway, for its colorful October catalog.

While Hemingway posed for photographer Chadwick Tyler, Doré shot and interviewed Doillon in and around her home. "I like the idea of having a lot of things, and I like having houses that make people want to stay," Doillon says. The same idea extends to the Fall garments from Free People: chunky knitwear, cozy sweaters, lived-in boots, and soft denim are exactly the kinds of clothes necessary for Fall. "With French women you first see the woman and then you see the clothes," Carine Roitfeld has said when describing the essence of French style. "It's more the way you mix the clothes and how you move, how you open your bag, how you cross your legs — just little things that make a difference."

Roitfeld makes it sound simple, but that perfect mix of irreverence, glamour, beauty, effortlessness, sex appeal, and slouch? Easier said than done. "It’s the fantasy of the entire world of women, even French women, to be the perfect Parisienne," Le Figaro columnist Bertrand de Saint Vincent explained recently in The New York Times.

Elusive, yes, but not impossible. Brigitte Bardot did it. Francoise Hardy and Jane Birkin, too. And while there's no denying the allure of those indelible dames, they're not the only ones. >> While the rest of us are still weeks away from getting our hands on the Marni for H&M collection, last night's pre-launch event in LA saw a bevy of high-profile guests already decked head-to-toe in the capsule's pieces. Sofia Coppola, Consuelo Castiglioni, and H&M creative director Margareta van den Bosch hosted the event, while guests Drew Barrymore, Winona Ryder, Milla Jovovich, and Lou Doillon were on-hand to celebrate — and sing the praises of — the collection. "I feel unique, I feel well-tailored. I feel like a rock n' roll Jackie O," Milla Jovovich, who wore a floral off-the-shoulder ensemble, exclaimed.

Also in attendance was the star of the collection's Coppola-directed campaign video, Imogen Poots, as well as Brian Ferry, who performed the campaign's theme song, Avalon.
