Michael Kors Resort 2014: An Updated Take on the '70s
The night before Michael Kors presented his Resort 2014 collection to editors and buyers in New York, he tweeted an almost axiomatic declaration: "Caftans look chic on everyone."
The next day, Kors delivered on that promise with a caftan that really would look good on everyone, cut from a slightly sheer ocelot print and decorated with a sprinkling of sequins for added glamour. The rest of the collection, called Palm Springs Modern, was created in a muted color palette of white, black, and tan, with splashes of blue, pink, and animal prints mixed in. Shapes from the '70s get updated here: Flared, tailored trousers skimmed the floor, and so did a number of colorblocked maxi dresses.
But because Resort collections have to provide something for lounging poolside in Palm Springs and something warm enough to wear on the tarmac at JFK, Kors included a warm pink sweater, a fur vest, and a few leopard-print coats for good measure.

Karolina and Cody Both in Silver — but Whose CFDA Look Wins Gold?
At tonight's CFDA Fashion Awards, Michael Kors wanted no one mistaking his dates — he dressed them both in eye-catching, light-reflecting metallic-silver looks. Karolina Kurkova looked extra leggy in a Resort 2014 shorts suit, while Cody Horn picked a Fall 2013 crystal-encrusted peplum dress with train. Both finished things off with the same pair of simple silver python sandals. While the women posed together, assuring us there was no actual style fight afoot, we can't help but want to crown a champion . . . so tell us: which silver Michael Kors look is your favorite?
