Razor Brand Billie Is Here to Remind You That Women Can Have Mustaches, Too

While No-Shave November is usually geared toward men, women's razor brand Billie wants you to know facial hair doesn't have to be so gendered. That's why the brand is launching a photo and video campaign of women proudly showing their facial hair this November to remind you that women can grow mustaches, too.

Breaking down the double-standard around women's facial hair is essential, especially when women have grown up believing that way their bodies naturally function is gross or unacceptable. This example of female facial hair in a campaign will hopefully help some people feel less self-conscious about their natural hair, because without worrying about the stigma, women can truly decide for themselves if they'd like to remove it. Billie co-founder Georgina Gooley is excited to highlight this area of women's grooming for that exact reason: "Of all the places women grow hair, the upper lip seems to be the one most rarely talked about and the most taboo," she said in a press release.

Billie has always worked to normalize women's body hair with campaigns like "Project Body Hair," but now the brand is doing even more good by starting a team page for the Movember Foundation, an organization that aims to limit the number of young men dying due to cancer and mental illness. One way the group raises awareness is through the sponsored growing of mustaches. Since women are also able to grow mustaches, and should if they'd like to, Billie is leading a team of women to raise money and awareness for the cause. Plus, if you choose to donate directly to the foundation, Billie will match donations up to $50,000, which means your break from waxing will do a lot of good.

"We're excited to make it the hero of our latest campaign and put our hair to good use in the name of a good cause," Gooley said. Check out Billie's Movember campaign, ahead.
