A$AP Rocky Apologizes For Jumping Over Fan Ahead of the Met Gala: "My Fault Sweetheart"

Before A$AP Rocky made a fashionably late entrance at this year's Met Gala with Rihanna, the "D.M.B." rapper made headlines for getting a little "wild for the night" at New York City's Carlyle Hotel. Per a viral clip still making the rounds on social media, Rocky was seen seemingly rushing to get ready for fashion's biggest night on May 1, as he jumped over a barrier — and a fan — outside of his hotel.

Said fan, named Maddy, then tweeted a photo of herself and wrote, "ASAP Rocky just literally jumped over me." The rapper has since issued a public apology, writing, "LOL MY FAULT $WEETHEART." Maddy replied to his response, saying, "I'm printing this on a t-shirt."

Complex published an interview with Maddy on May 2 to recap her wild encounter with Rocky, in which she shared that the rapper didn't necessarily ask for permission to pass by her at the Carlyle but instead "more so just said that he needed to get through." According to her, she told him "'no' because there wasn't anywhere for me to go and everyone was shoving up." "I had realized it was him but I didn't fully process that it was him," she continued. "After he jumped over, I had realized and I was just like, 'That's ASAP Rocky.'"

Although Maddy admitted she "was a little mad" in that moment, she tweeted on May 1 that she doesn't plan on taking legal action against Rocky. She wrote, "stop asking if im suing asap literally how would i do that."

Elsewhere on Met Gala night, Rocky seemed to have a pleasant evening with his expecting superstar girlfriend, whom he already shares a son with. At one point, Rocky stood off to the side of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's steps to watch Rihanna as she got her photos taken. He even corrected an onlooker at the fashion event who yelled Rihanna's name, telling them with a smile, "That's Ms. Fenty to you!"
