Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy Have Called Off Their Engagement

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy have ended their engagement, People confirms. A rep for the actress said Monday, "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed coparents." The actress and Muse frontman began dating in 2010, and Matt popped the question in April 2011. Their son, Bingham Bellamy, was born in July of that year. Kate spoke out multiple times about not minding a long engagement. In October, she told Women's Health, "My parents [Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell] aren't married," adding, "They didn't feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed. So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket."

Kate and Matthew last hit the red carpet together last month for Goldie Hawn's "Love In For Kids" charity event, benefitting the Hawn Foundation. Later that week, Kate spent Thanksgiving with her parents, brothers, and model Cara Delevingne; Kate shared a series of Instagram videos featuring the group having a dance party, though Matthew was not present in any of the clips. Before that, the couple shared some steamy PDA during a vacation off the coast of Spain back in June. Earlier this year, there was speculation that the couple was going through a rocky patch, which only heated up when Kate attended multiple events without her engagement ring.
