Miss Colombia Speaks Out About Steve Harvey's Mistake at Miss Universe: "Everything Happens For a Reason"
On Sunday night, everyone watching the Miss Universe pageant witnessed the awkward moment when Steve Harvey accidentally crowned Miss Colombia as the winner instead of Miss Philippines, who actually earned the crown. While the devastating moment was hard to watch, what you didn't see was Ariadna Gutiérrez's backstage reaction after Steve's mistake had finally set in. While the host apologized for his mix-up on Twitter, many fans were visibly upset over the encounter, including Miss Colombia herself. But in a candid moment caught on video, Ariadna thanked her fans and said, "everything happens for a reason." On Tuesday, Ariadna took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with her fans and also thanked them for their support. Her message reads as follows:

Today because of that COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world. I also want to congratulate the Philippines for their new Miss Universe. The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible. Life continues and in the future we will find out why things happen the way they happen. Thank you all for your LOVE SUPPORT and KINDNESS.
