A Naked Theo James Leaps Through Time in "The Time Traveler's Wife" Trailer

HBO Max is adapting Audrey Niffenegger's 2003 bestselling novel "The Time Traveler's Wife" into a drama series. The six-episode original stars Rose Leslie and Theo James and follows the complicated love story of Clare and Henry as they deal with a huge problem in their marriage: time travel.

In the trailer, which was released on April 21, we see Henry travel through various intervals in time as Clare struggles to cope with his absence. "We just happened to each other," Leslie's Clare tells James's Henry in the clip. "In the wrong order."

Joining Leslie and James are actors Desmin Borges and Natasha Lopez. "The Time Traveler's Wife" is directed by David Nutter and written by Steven Moffat. The HBO Max show is the second adaptation of Niffenegger's novel after the 2009 film adaptation starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

"The Time Traveler's Wife" premieres on HBO Max on May 15.
