American Crime Story: Where Else Have You Seen Gianni Before?

While the entire cast of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story bear a striking resemblance to their onscreen counterparts (have you seen Penelope Cruz as Donatella?) the most convincing casting choice has to be Edgar Ramirez as Gianni Versace himself. If you've been wondering where you know this actor from but can't place him, that might be due to his incredible, almost unrecognizable transformation into the famed fashion designer.

Ramírez entered the world of acting as a minor player, often playing very small roles in Spanish movies and television shows. He got his big break starring alongside Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke in Domino back in 2005. He also snagged supporting roles in movies like The Bourne Ultimatum, Vantage Point, and Zero Dark Thirty before moving on to bigger roles in like Ares in Wrath of the Titans and Mendoza in Deliver Us from Evil. Ramírez also starred in the short-lived miniseries Carlos.

After a decade of solid roles and growing as an actor, Ramírez found himself starring with the best of 'em, like Matthew McConaughey in Gold, Robert De Niro in Hands of Stone, and most recently, Will Smith in Bright. More recently, he had a couple of minor but memorable roles in Joy and The Girl on the Train. Ramírez also took on the iconic role of Bodhi, originally portrayed by Patrick Swayze, in the 2015 remake of Point Break.
