National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman became a household name after she delivered her original poem "The Hill We Climb" at President Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday. If rereading the words from her stirring inaugural poem isn't cutting it, the 22-year-old writer has already penned her very first children's book. Gorman first unveiled the book's cover just one day before she became a household name for reciting "The Hill We Climb" at the inauguration.

"I wrote Change Sings as a children's anthem to remind young readers that they have the power to shape the world."

The lyrical book, titled Change Sings: A Children's Anthem, follows a young girl who leads a cast of characters on a musical journey, learning along the way that together they have the power to make meaningful change. It is illustrated by Loren Long, who also provided illustrations for President Barack Obama's Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters.

"I wrote Change Sings as a children's anthem to remind young readers that they have the power to shape the world," Gorman announced on Instagram.

It won't be released until Sept. 21, but it is already available for preorder on Amazon and has quickly become a bestseller. It currently holds the No. 2 spot, only preceded by her forthcoming book of poetry, which is the site's current most popular book based on sales. According to Gorman, the timing of the book's release was intentional.

"I felt strongly that the book should come out in 2021, when children would be facing the results of the 2020 election and whatever those would be, I wanted them to know they were the leaders of the future. I had no idea that around the same time I myself would be named the youngest inaugural poet at that time! So I am too learning and living the lesson of Change Sings."
