Kristin Cavallari Says Her Youngest Daughter Is "Payback" For Her Own Childhood

Kristin Cavallari sees a lot of herself in her youngest daughter, 7-year-old Saylor. They carry a lot of the same strength, grit, and tenacity, but as she explained to Us Weekly in an interview published on June 1, it's not always easy to parent a mini-me. "She is stubborn and she is tough. She's definitely payback for me," Cavallari said in reference to her littlest. "My mom says we're identical."

Many of Cavallari's high school years are well-documented thanks to MTV's "Laguna Beach," and the later spin-off, "The Hills." Although she described Saylor as her "hardest kid" and her "biggest parenting challenge," Cavallari can also empathize and understand her needs. "I think she is so tough, but really it's those tough ones that usually need the most love," she said. "I just try to kill her with kindness and just try to love on her as much as possible." Still, with all the trouble she used to get into herself, she noted that what goes around comes around: "I believe in karma."

Cavallari coparents Saylor and her two sons, Jaxon, 9, and Camden, 10, with her ex-husband, Jay Cutler. "It has its challenges for sure, especially in the beginning when everything is so fresh still. But we're just navigating it the best way we know how," she told People in 2021, after announcing their divorce in April 2020. "I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He's their father. That's important and they need to see that from me."
