Forget Scully's Suit, Gillian Anderson Will Make You Crave Minimalist Style

When The X-Files returns to TV this month, we're expecting to see plenty of power suits. But if her character Dana Scully's style is all business, actress Gillian Anderson's latest shoot shows off a more understated look. Gillian posed for Net-a-Porter's The Edit in minimalist dresses and sweaters from designers including Victoria Beckham and Alexander Wang. The palette of black, white, and red is simple but eye-catching all the same.

Gillian describes Scully's style as "slightly square," adding, "she's not a jeans wearer, she's a comfy slacks and V-neck Banana Republic sweaters woman." But in this spread, Gillian's effortless elegance proves that her look is a far cry from the signature style of her onscreen persona. Read on for a look at the shoot, and then head to The Edit's site to read the interview in full.
