Halle Bailey Pairs Chrome Egyptian-Inspired Bustier With Low-Rise Trousers

Halle Bailey celebrated the fantastical world of Pandora in an outfit suited for (and inspired by) a goddess. At the "Avatar: The Way of Water" premiere on Dec. 12, the "The Little Mermaid" star wore an asymmetrical gold Balmain bustier paired with low-rise black pants and gold accessories. She attended the premiere with boyfriend DDG.

Bailey worked with her go-to stylist Nichole Goodman to put this fabulous look together and ultimately slay on the red carpet. The story and structure of the gold bustier instantly made it the focal point of the outfit, honoring the mythological elements of the "Avatar" universe by drawing from actual Ancient Egyptian mythology.

Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing collaborated with Egyptian jewelry designer Azza Fahmy for this stunning, intricate piece. The bustier included armor-like plates across the chest, a sculptural silhouette, and braided details along the border, drawing inspiration from ancient symbols.

"Actress @hallebailey revels in Ancient Egyptian inspiration for the world premiere of Avatar 2 wearing a golden Eye of Horus bustier crafted in collaboration with Egyptian fine jeweler @azzafahmy," Balmain wrote on Instagram. "The gold-plated bustier pulls from Egyptian symbolism including the Eye of Horus, the wings of the goddess Nekhbet, the lotus, the Shen-ring & a scarab."

While the bustier could've stood alone, Goodman and Bailey accessorized liberally, incorporating gold all over. The singer wore a thin, gold headband over her box braids. She also wore a layered gold choker, with organic, branch-like strands from Alexis Bittar. Bailey also leaned into the asymmetry of her bustier, opting for mismatched Poem earrings from Mara Paris. Below Bailey's oversize, low-rise trousers, she completed the look with pointed-toe, Punk Stud Pumps from Alexander McQueen.
