When three very stylish influencers all show up at an event wearing one standout trend, you know it's got to be a good one. After all, three's a trend, right? To celebrate the new Lauren Ralph Lauren Fall 2019 collection, POPSUGAR and Lauren Ralph Lauren held events at Macy's stores across the country. We spotted plenty of polished patterns and crisp tailoring, but there was one trend in particular we were especially excited to see IRL: metallic textures.

From an eye-catching shirtdress to a must-have pleated skirt, shiny fabrics were everywhere. And with the holidays coming up, they're not going anywhere. Ahead, see exactly how these stylish ladies incorporated the texture into their evening outfits, and get ready for plenty of outfit inspo to last you through the season.

Layered With Other Textures

Texture on texture is one of our favorite Fall styling tricks, and Amanda Miller Pollard executed it perfectly with her outfit for the event at Macy's Herald Square in NYC. Here, she combined her pleated metallic skirt with a merino wool sweater and leather ankle boots. If you're unsure how to combine textures, a good place to start is to match rich textures with rich textures, like wool, suede, leather, and fur.

Streamlined With Sleek Accessories

Wearing metallic from head to toe is a bold way to make a statement. One way to keep it streamlined is to opt for one sophisticated piece, like Kelly Larkin did here with a shimmery shirtdress for the event at Macy's Dadeland in Miami. Take notes from her, and match the timeless appeal of the dress with equally timeless accessories, like a structured leather satchel and sleek strappy heels. This ensures the entire effect is polished and refined and something you can take from professional to party with ease.

Monochromatically

Monochrome is a big trend right now, and Anna Jane Wisniewski's look for the event at Macy's State Street in Chicago is the ultimate example of how to pull it off in a dynamic way. Wearing one color can easily look flat, but Anna showed us that combining different tones and finishes of the same color family, as well as choosing pieces with movement, can take a monochrome look to the next level. A swishy gunmetal midi skirt (clearly this skirt is the It item of the season!) combined with a gray sweater feels fresh and playful. It's not your usual groutfit, that's for sure!
