I Found the Perfect Lightweight Puffer Jacket at Target For $35

Confession: I've never tried wearing Target's outerwear (until now). I've spent a lot of time donning — and selfie-ing — the brand's downright impressive selection of quarter-zips and trendy loungewear, but I haven't so far ventured into the jacket or coat department. How did everything change? On Cyber Monday, I came across the wildly affordable A New Day Travel Puffer Jacket ($35), took one look at its nearly perfect five-star rating, and the rest was history. I'll be honest: I wasn't sure whether I'd like this jacket IRL, mainly because of the price point; it sounds too good to be true. But I can attest that it's worth the hype. It is virtually weightless and features a hoodie, spacious front pockets, and a drawcord if you want to cinch it at the waist. Beyond the practical details, I'm in love with the vibrant pink hue, as well as the quilted design that's trendy but certainly not a fashion risk.

This puffer coat isn't bulky; it's lightweight and easily packable. That said, it certainly won't get me through a Midwest winter, but it will come in clutch when traveling. I even got to put it to the test: I recently ventured from frigid Minnesota temps to springy Las Vegas, and it was the perfect outer layer. While it has mostly rave reviews, a few shoppers recommended sizing down, but I found that my usual size medium fit perfectly. It wasn't formfitting nor oversize, but I'm confident I could wear a hoodie underneath if I wanted to without it being too tight. In my opinion, it might be worth testing out two sizes and returning your less favorite.
