Television presenter Louise Roe is known for her fabulous fashion sense, but it turns out the newlywed is just as talented at interior design. She recently teamed up with Joss & Main to create a toned-down and cozy Valentine's Day dinner party for two, and while her tablescape is undeniably romantic, you won't find any stereotypical red or hearts. "I really love unconventional dates and the romantic gestures that are more personal. To me, staying home for a beautiful meal together, or even going on a picnic, is far more intimate than having a set menu at a restaurant," Louise told Joss & Main. Take a look at her elegant and romantic dinner style ahead, and then visit Louise's shop on Joss & Main to get the look.

Simple Florals

Simple Florals

Louise skipped red roses, that stereotypical Valentine's Day flower, and went with something more modern and airy. She put bushels of like florals — all of which can be easily found at the grocery store — in simple glass vases to create understated romance.

Pops of blue and lavender break up Louise's neutral tablescape and — when paired with a white marble cheeseboard ($44), set of vintage glass bottles ($32), and wooden bowls ($62) — lend the dinner a casual elegance reminiscent of the French countryside.

Instead of layers of heavy fabric, glittering accents, and traditional red, Louise opted for textured white bowls ($24) placed upon a rattan charger ($32) and paired with wooden-accented silverware.

A Neutral Tablescape

As evidenced by her classic wedding gown, Louise loves chic, understated elegance. Her dinner table is no different. Neutral whites and beiges — a white dolomite pitcher ($32) and natural tablecloth ($59) — in a variety of organic materials and textures come together to form a timeless spread.
