Shay Mitchell changed the luggage landscape with Béis, providing functional and stylish travel gear from the bestselling Mini Weekender to the editor-obsessed Commuter collection. She has a keen eye for design, so when she wanted to revamp her Béis office, she partnered with CB2 to transform her warehouse space into a stylish abode with the help of her friend and interior designer, Chad Wood.

"Combining fashion and function with an affordable price point are the three buckets that are important to me while designing Béis — it's the same thing with our office," she told PS. "We wanted something that looked incredible and had a function. With the chairs, I need them to be comfortable and not only look pretty, same with the couches. The desk needs to be usable in size and fit what we need it to be able to do." Since her warehouse space features industrial elements like wood ceilings, concrete floors, and white tiling, they chose furniture pieces that would add warmth to the space. Mitchell also gravitated towards pieces inspired by Italian design. "We chose this really beautiful Portofino Walnut Wood Desk. It's a little bit longer than your average personal desk size. It also had this sort of minimalist feel that I liked," she says.

Mitchell also shared some of her favorite travel tips, including always dressing for comfort. "I never wear heels on a plane. I may bring them in my bag and change into them after a flight. I always have a pair of socks in my bag when traveling. Comfort is key, you can always pack an extra outfit as I have done in our weekender bags. I'll pack my off-the-plane outfit in the bottom compartment, and that's always been a great little hack for me, but I never want to be uncomfortable on a plane, especially the longer ones," she says.

When it comes to packing, Mitchell believes more is more. "I'm sorry. I'm not going to tell you to pack light. I'm somebody who packs over, but at the same time, if I need something, it's always there," she says. However, to pack smart, she recommends making a packing list, so you don't forget essential items. "You don't want to miss out on packing things that you may overlook if you're doing it last minute or you don't have as much time as you would like to have packed."

In addition to designing more travel pieces, Mitchell is looking forward to the upcoming release of a new show that she produced and hosted that involves her "love of travel." She's also keen on visiting Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.

Ahead, Mitchell shared her current must-have products with us, including her favorite sheets, her go-to facial massager, and a few of her office picks.

Mitchell drinks Hydralyte Lightly Sparkling ($25) often, including while traveling and working out. She loves the fizziness and shares that her favorite flavor is Lemon Squeeze. "It's just like a little add to my water that just makes the flavor a million times better, and it's also a lot more hydrating, and it's something now I do with my girls, too," she says.

She even found it useful when she was expecting. "When I was pregnant the first time and I wasn't using Hydralyte as regularly, I got a lot more Charley horse cramps in my feet, and that's a very common thing when you're pregnant."

Pro Tip: It also comes in tablet form, which is more convenient for travel.

When choosing a sofa for her office space, Mitchell prioritized comfort. "I don't want my thought process to be interrupted by my uncomfortableness sitting in a chair or a sofa," she says. She loved the warmth that the CB2 Marconi 3-Seater Tufted Leather Sofa Bello Black by Gianfranco Frattini ($4,299) brought to her office space, which has more of a warehouse feel. "It looks firm, but it's really comfortable. We wanted things to look timeless for the office space: pieces that were a little bit more traditional mixed with modern pieces, but everything would be super comfortable."

Mitchell's morning routine starts with a lymphatic facial massage using her Shani Darden Skin Care Facial Sculpting Wand ($399). "I feel like it gets the blood flowing. [If] you feel a little bit more puffy, it moves the extra liquid out," she says. The wand uses sound wave technology to help sculpt the face and improve the skin's firmness for a smoother appearance. It comes with two attachments: a precision ball to target crow's feet and nasolabial lines, and a flat disk to help target the forehead, jowls, and neck.

Pro Tip: Mitchell uses this wand in conjunction with the Shani Darden Skin Care Hydration Peptide Cream ($60), which adds moisture to her dry skin.

Mitchell discovered her go-to sheets, the Coyuchi 300 Thread Count Organic Percale Sheet Set ($222, originally $278) while staying over at a friend's place. She often finds the best bedding by asking her friends what they use. "They are comfortable and feel really nice," she says.

Mitchell recommends getting different types of sheets and having options suitable for the warmer and colder months. "I'm more of a lighter color, neutral person, when it comes to sheets."

Pro Tip: She also sleeps with a Slip Contour Sleep Mask ($55). "I like being able to open my eyes, as weird as that sounds, while wearing a mask," she says.

Mitchell loves traveling with the Béis The Front Pocket Carry-On ($248). "I like to have the easy-access pocket where I put my iPad, so it's easier going through TSA," she says. She loves the cushion handle that delivers a comfortable grip. "The little extra purse strap that's at the front part of it also allows me to hold a smaller bag or a last-minute gift at the airport."

Mitchell recommends packing a few days ahead and having everything laid out before you finalize what goes into your suitcase. "You're looking at it a little bit longer than doing it the day of or the hour before, as I have sometimes done. It allows you to look and think 'do I really need this piece?' or 'Oh, actually with this item, I might need this jacket,'" she says.

Pro Tip: Depending on your packing needs and travel situation, Mitchell recommends the regular Carry-On Roller, which is a bit larger without the front pocket. She uses this luggage when she has a lot more to pack and is already carrying a travel tote with a padded laptop sleeve.

The CB2 Aqua Virgo Rectangular Dark Burl Wood Dining Table 100" ($1,299) is one of the first pieces Mitchell picked out for her new office. She opted for this extra-long dining table because "it had a large enough size that people could feel comfortable pulling up a chair and getting around and sharing ideas," she says.

Mitchell points out its architectural legs, its sleek silhouette, and how multifunctional it can be for collaborative work. "I love the burl wood. I just thought it was so rich-looking with the darkness of it," she shares.
