Agyness Deyn Promises She's Not Officially Retired From Modeling

br>
Agyness Deyn told us that just because she's landed several leading roles in more than one feature film doesn't mean she'll never model again.
Deyn, who stars in the film Pusher, says reports of her leaving the industry are the result of a big misunderstanding.
"It's really funny — it's like I stood on a podium and was like 'I'm retiring from modeling!' And it's so not the case," she said. "Someone asked me if I had stopped modeling and I was like, 'Uh, I suppose so, cause I've not modeled for a while.' But it's not like I'm never going to model ever again. There's a lot of actresses and actors who model and do work. So I'm not like totally ruling it out. I think like, just the basic fact that I've not done a modeling job in a while was what I was trying to communicate."
Her work on stage and screen is what's kept her away from fashion photographers and in front of film directors. In Pusher, Deyn plays Flo, the heroine-addicted stripper girlfriend of the film's protagonist, a drug dealer named Frank. Deyn shadowed a stripper to prepare for the role, and "had a lot of input" in creating Flo's wardrobe for the film.
"You have a certain idea of who she is and what she's about, and you put on a certain thing and its like 'Oh my God, this is her,'" Deyn said. "When she's at home, it's kind of super laid back and neutral and not in your face, her casual wear. And then when she's at work it's like 'Woah, holy sh*t!'"
And Deyn says Flo's duality — in both her personality and her wardrobe — is what makes her such an engaging character.
"She's like this childlike, angelic, delicate flower at home, and then when she's at work, she's this red-haired vixen in total control," she says. "That was the fun thing about playing her: It was kind of like playing two different characters."
Pusher premieres in theaters on Friday, Oct. 26, and is already available on video on demand.

Agyness Deyn Has Officially Retired From Modeling

br>
Agyness Deyn's appearance on the Summer cover of i-D magazine may have been the last job of her modeling career. Deyn, who's now pursuing a career in acting, said in a recent interview that she's "stopped modelling officially."
Deyn told The Independent, "I've not done any for a good long while now. I think it was about four years ago when my feelings were changing towards the industry. I didn't hate it, but I was yearning to do something different. I was on a gradient. It was a gradual thing."
Deyn has a supporting role in the upcoming film Pusher, which premieres next month, but she first started appearing in films in 2010. That year, she starred in the short Mean to Me and played the role of Aphrodite in Clash of the Titans.
Still, Deyn's drift from modeling into acting doesn't mean she didn't like walking down runways and appearing in ad campaigns.
"Oh god, I loved it," she said. "Being 18 years old, from Manchester, and suddenly having this new world to explore — being able to travel, meet all these different people, and immerse myself in all these different cultures — was just so much fun."
A look at all the fun Deyn has been having in her new career as an actor, here.

Agyness Deyn Lands Lead in Pusher Sequel

br>
Agyness Deyn's role in the upcoming thriller Pusher may just be a supporting one, but in the sequel, she'll be playing the lead.
br>
Director Nicolas Winding Refn says he plans to make several follow-ups to the film, including a sequel that will follow Deyn's character — a drug-addicted stripper — as she moves from London to Las Vegas in an attempt to make a fresh start.
br>
Pusher doesn't hit theaters until Oct. 26, but die-hard Aggy fans can get a sneak peek of the film by downloading it now on iTunes. Peep the trailer below, then take a look at all the roles in Deyn's burgeoning acting career, here.

Newlyweds Agyness Deyn and Giovanni Ribisi Engage in Romantic Shopping Spree
Since the surprise announcement of their secret wedding back in June, Agyness Deyn and Giovanni Ribisi have kept a pretty low profile — until now. Yesterday the newlyweds were spotted at Gelson's supermarket in Los Angeles, and not only did they appear to be having a great time while shopping for peanut butter, but they were also not at all shy about engaging in some heavy PDA.
br>
"We both felt it!" Deyn recently explained to The Telegraph of her and Ribisi's sudden union. "And now it just makes so much sense, both of us wanting that. It's a really symbolic thing." Judging by these photos, it's really a romantic thing as well. A peek inside their happy grocery spree, here.
Agyness Deyn Spills on Her First Campaign and Her Ever-Changing Hair

br>
Meeting your idols can be exhilarating, but Agyness Deyn told us she wasn't exactly a smooth operator the first time she met Dame Vivienne Westwood, with whom she did her first major ad campaign.
"That was before I've done Vogue or anything — I was 19," Deyn said of the ad. "I loved Vivienne. I remember that was one of the first shows I ever did. She's from up north, right where I'm from. I just remember telling her, 'I'm from where you're from!' while she was in the middle of styling someone during the show, and she was like, 'Oh, OK.'"
Deyn, who recently collaborated on a '90s-grunge-influenced capsule collection with Dr. Martens, says her personal style isn't just limited to her wardrobe and is highly reflective of her mood.
"It really depends on how I'm feeling. Especially with my hair, shaving it and dying it black, then I dyed it orange," she said. "It's something that I like to express in addition to the way I dress." And what was she expressing when she got that buzz cut? "I was just like, let's get it all off. I've done that all the way through growing up. You just get to the point of shaving it all off, and I've gone through years where I dye it, shave it, grow it out, and have fun with it all over again."

Agyness Deyn Dishes on Her Grungy Cool Clothing and Shoe Collection For Dr. Martens
With a résumé that includes top catwalker, actor, and now designer for Dr. Martens, it's safe to say Agyness Deyn has come a long, fashionable way. "Dr. Martens have been ingrained in my life," said the English beauty, recalling stomping the grounds in her thick-soled Dr. Martens boots as an adolescent, then progressing later on as she became the face of the campaign ads in recent years. Agyness's debut Dr. Martens collection, dropping in stores and online beginning Aug. 15, features a wide range of cool-girl clothing featuring plaid jumpsuits, bright quilted jackets, and sweet daisy (Agyness's favorite flower) print dresses. For accessories, Agyness stayed true to the brand's iconic thick-soled shoes, but this time, remixed the formula in sexy patent leather and thigh-high silhouettes. We also love Agyness's colorful array of heart-shaped leather bags. Read on to see what Agyness had to say about her Dr. Martens collection, then click the slideshow to see the complete ad campaign and every piece from her new line.
FabSugar: What kind of girl to do picture wearing your Dr. Martens collection?
Agynes Deyn: Someone up for experimenting. Those thigh-high boots [in the collection] are so great because they are so sexy, but also have a hard edge. That's what I like about the collection; it has a very sexy vibe but not too provocative. You can wear it un-buttoned or however you want; it's not too much like t*ts and ass. It's subtle.
FS: Do you have a favorite when it comes to modeling, acting, or designing?
AG: I never really know until it arrives, really. It depends on the project. My aim in life is to work without feeling like I am working. Also, working with people that also like to have fun.
FS: What do you like to do when you're not designing, modeling, or acting?
AG: I like jumping around! I also like to swim a lot and being on beach and sea.
FS: Who do you think is the quintessential London girl?
AG: Pixie Geldof. She is London, I love her. She's not serious, she likes to have fun, she's just like whatever.
