Tip: Borrow From the Boys

With so many options in women's fashion, why is it so satisfying to shop the men's section?
How to Wear Your Boyfriend's Clothes

With so many options in women's fashion, why is it so satisfying to shop the men's section? It's seductive to see a woman throw on her boyfriend's shirt and look utterly, and effortlessly, sexy. There's a confidence associated with a woman who can assert her femininity even when clothed in men's silhouettes. There's also the thing about the fit: it's not tailored to our body, and the boxiness adds a bit of mystery and je ne sais quoi. Here's what we're shopping from the men's — and in one instance, the boys'— section. Maybe it's time to play tomboy.

Brooks Brothers Launches a Dapper New Décor Line

If there's a man in your life who has the dapper dress going on, but whose bachelor pad still qualifies as cringe-worthy, now he can shop for his throw pillows and cuff links in one fell swoop: Brooks Brothers has launched a home décor collection!

If there's a man in your life who has the dapper dress going on, but whose bachelor pad still qualifies as cringe-worthy, now he can shop for his throw pillows and cuff links in one fell swoop: Brooks Brothers has launched a home décor collection! The masculine new line, available exclusively online, includes decorative pillows and bedding and bath items.

Most noteworthy are the Tie Stripe Silk Twill Pillows ($248-$288), which are made from the English silk used to craft the brand's classic, dashing neckties — though I must say they're a bit overpriced. For the bedroom, Brooks Brothers Home offers two collections; the Blue Yarn-Dye line is inspired by men's dress shirts, while the Herringbone line features classic white linens with a three-row embroidered border. I'm just hoping one day they'll offer monogramming. Meanwhile, simple terrycloth towels, robes, and slippers make up the bath collection. The brand is expected to debut some more home accessories like lampshades this Fall, too, so stay tuned! Check out my favorite picks from the line below.

Online Sale Alert! Brooks Brothers Doggie Gear 50 Percent Off

Prepster pooches, check this out — yet another cashmere cable doggie sweater!

Prepster pooches, check this out — yet another cashmere cable doggie sweater! Coming in camel, navy, and red at Brooks Brothers, the three sizes are pretty pawfect for tiny to medium-sized pups. I can already imagine North sporting this cardinal one.

What's even better is that it's on sale, along with a lovely matching collar and leash. These calfskin goods are hand-braided with brass hardware, and, like other quality leather items, I bet the accessories will only look better with age. See for yourself in the widget below.

Trend Alert: Swanky Umbrellas

I know it's hard to look good in the rain, but with a couple of key pieces, I guarantee you success.

I know it's hard to look good in the rain, but with a couple of key pieces, I guarantee you success. Take for example, Ginnifer Goodwin, seen left, at the He's Just Not That Into You premiere in Australia. The actress isn't going to let a couple of drops rain on her parade. Her swanky umbrella not only protects her citron Brian Reyes frock, it also makes a chic, functional accessory. I know you'd rather spend your money on clothes and shoes, but it's a necessary investment. After all, you don't want wet Manolos.
