Kate Spade Spring 2013

Deborah Lloyd's Spring '13 presentation was filled to the brim with vintage, colorful nostalgia.

Deborah Lloyd's Spring '13 presentation was filled to the brim with vintage, colorful nostalgia. Prints were in full bloom as the designer took us back to the '80s in an array of cropped floral pants, gingham fit-and-flare dresses, polka-dot tops, and bow-print sweaters. The explosion of hot pink, yellow, and mint were definitely made for the girlie girl, but even the minimalist would fall in love with the brand's cheeky accessories — who could resist those adorable radio clutches?

  • Trends: Retro, printed pants, flared skirts.
  • Colors: Yellow, pink, blue, mint, black, and white..
  • Key Piece: The orange gingham dress was adorable.
  • Accessories: Neon pumps, floral platform sandals, cutout flats, patent platform sandals, spectator slingbacks, kitschy clutches, straw and satin bags.
  • Who Should Wear It: Jessica Alba's not afraid of prints and has been spotted wearing a lot of Kate Spade lately.

Brad Goreski Calls Jessica Alba the Queen of Layering!

Brad Goreski is one lucky guy these days.

Brad Goreski is one lucky guy these days. He not only gets to play dress-up with Jessica Alba — and might we add he's doing a kick-ass job! — but he's written a book and was thrown a star-studded dinner by Kate Spade's president and creative director Deborah Lloyd. There's the colorful duo posing pretty at the affair at Sunset Tower Hotel in LA.

We got a chance to chat with Brad and Deborah, who will both be at the Kate Spade store in Century City this Saturday, March 17 from 11 AM to 1 PM, where Brad will be signing copies of his book, Born to Be Brad: My Life and Style, So Far. "The purpose of the book is to inspire people to follow their dreams no matter what obstacles or adversities they have faced in their life," Brad — who also styles Rashida Jones, Demi Moore, and Christina Ricci — told us. "Hopefully people will be inspired by my story and take away some good fashion advice." But before you go, hear what Brad and Deborah had to say about all things celebrity style.

CS: You've been styling Jessica Alba for a while now. How would you describe her personal style?
BG: I call Jessica the queen of layering. She knows exactly how to put things together. She is always casual cool and has such great personal style.

CS: If you had to pick one casual cool outfit for a girl, what would it consist of?
BG: A denim shirt paired with a pencil skirt or skinny colored jeans. I also love denim on denim. Always with a great pair of heels and an eye-catching day bag.

Brad Goreski Tapped as Kate Spade New York's Exclusive Stylist

>> The stylist — and reality television star — has inked a two-year deal with Kate Spade New York to be the brand's exclusive stylist.

>> The stylist — and reality television star — has inked a two-year deal with Kate Spade New York to be the brand's exclusive stylist. In addition to styling press events, presentations, ad campaigns, and e-commerce shoots, Goreski will use his social media expertise — he has over 127,000 Twitter followers — to help garner excitement around Kate Spade New York's ready-to-wear collection, which launched in 2009. "It’s my hope to get the ready-to-wear out there and see it more on the streets and see people playing with it and making it their own," Goreski said.

Though the stylist and the brand have teamed up in the past — Goreski styled the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 ready-to-wear presentations — the deal makes Goreski's position within the brand official. "When I began to consider a stylist with whom I could really build an ongoing relationship and one whom I trusted, he was the first that came to mind," Kate Spade New York creative director Deborah Lloyd explained. "Besides being a great stylist, he is a joy to be around and a true gentleman. He keeps me laughing and keeps me on my toes."

Glowing Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain Have a Help Reunion at TIFF Kate Spade Party

Bryce Dallas Howard hosted a cocktail party for kate spade New York in Toronto last night.

Bryce Dallas Howard hosted a cocktail party for kate spade New York in Toronto last night. Bryce is the face of their handbag collection and was decked out in a custom-made chambray shirtdress and bright pink necklace from kate spade, which matched the walls at The Harbourd Room. Bryce's costar from The Help Jessica Chastain swung through the soiree to say hello and catch up for a moment before heading off to her next TIFF bash. The redheads, whose movie The Help has had huge box office success, posed for photos and shared a few laughs as Bryce sipped on a mocktail. Bryce was also joined by her good friend Jason Lew, who wrote Restless, the film that BDH produced which helped kick off the festival with a big red carpet premiere on Thursday. Bryce is expecting her second child with husband Seth Gabel, though he couldn't come along to the festival since he's currently on the other side of Canada working on Fringe in Vancouver. Bryce has two projects at TIFF, the other being cancer comedy 50/50 with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Anna Kendrick, and Seth Rogen, which debuts early next week.

Sneak Peek! Deborah Lloyd's First Collection For Kate Spade

I can only imagine how nervous designer Deborah Lloyd must be feeling.

I can only imagine how nervous designer Deborah Lloyd must be feeling. Her first full collection for Kate Spade was unveiled and you know everyone is judging it with an editor's eye; I'm no exception. The designer said she played with scale and color but kept the DNA of Kate Spade consistent. It's important to note that Lloyd has showcased a holiday and resort collection, as well as some ready-to-wear pieces (left), all at the same time. I'm not crazy about the holiday and classic bags, but the whimsical shoes and jewel tones dresses are Fab. Does Lloyd's collection pass your test?

Fab Flash: Kate Spade Gets New Creative Director

Former Banana Republic executive vice president of product design and development Deborah Lloyd (pictured right) has been named creative director and co-president of Kate Spade.

Former Banana Republic executive vice president of product design and development Deborah Lloyd (pictured right) has been named creative director and co-president of Kate Spade. If you recall, Kate and Andy Spade stepped down from their namesake brand in July. Prior to Banana Republic, Lloyd, whose expertise is rooted in sportswear, worked as vice president of design for Burberry London for five years. This all goes hand in hand with a plan to expand the brand's product categories, which will eventually include apparel.

Parent Liz Claiborne Inc. chief executive officer William L. McComb (pictured left) revealed that Spade is currently focused on correcting its handbags, footwear and small leather goods between Fall 2008 and Fall 2009. Lloyd could decide to launch additional categories such as jewelry by Fall 2009 and apparel by Spring 2010. We look forward to it!
