Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen have already taken the fashion world by storm with their designs, and now the duo is tackling the beauty arena with a new fragrance deal.

Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen have already taken the fashion world by storm with their designs, and now the duo is tackling the beauty arena with a new fragrance deal. Mary-Kate and Ashley will debut an Elizabeth and James-branded scent this March at Sephora. "We look forward to bringing the modern perspective and fashion philosophy of Elizabeth and James designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to life with this prestige fragrance," Michael McGeever of Sephora Originals, told WWD. This isn't the Olsen's first foray into beauty, however. Previously they orchestrated beauty launches for Walmart including fragrances and body sprays. But while those were aimed at a more youthful audience, this Elizabeth and James collaboration is sure to be all grown up. This announcement comes after their stellar Spring 2013 showing at New York Fashion Week, and it will be interesting to see how they translate their casual-chic design aesthetic into aromatic notes.

There was an exotic glimmer to the tailored separates and relaxed dresses that made up Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's Elizabeth and James Spring 2013 collection. The duo looked to images of sunsets and sunrises for inspiration this season, and the resulting palette lent a sense of serenity and richness that was as lovely as anything on offer elsewhere this week. Jackets and pants were the main draw here; they came in the form of slim-cut boy blazers, boxy sport coats, pared-down trenches, wide-leg cropped palazzos, and softly cuffed trousers. Crisp shantung silks and smooth damask printed in wallpaper patterns helped enhance the polished bazaar vibe.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen provided much-needed respite from the usual hectic scene during NYFW, presenting their Elizabeth and James Spring '13 collection in an intimate, serene setting at Industria Studios. The vibe was cool and relaxed, just like the collection itself, which showed off the sisters' penchant for designing tailored pieces with an effortless edge and a much bigger jewelry assortment featuring exotic beaded bracelets, wooden bangles, and covetable eyewear. Trenches were made in crisp linen, taffeta trousers emanated a soft sheen, and washed silk tops were draped just perfectly so. While the majority of the separates were bare of any prints, a crop of beautifully tailored jacquard printed blazers and slim-fit trousers added an exotic element to the line. We especially loved the worldly, luxe feel of the orchid-hued blazer paired with cropped wide-leg taffeta trousers. And every look was paired with strappy, multicolored flats, proving that you don't need to be in heels to look sleek and sophisticated.

  • Trends: Jacquard prints, loose trousers, shiny finishes.
  • Colors: White, magenta, light peach, black, copper, coral, blue.
  • Key Piece: The orchid jacquard printed blazer, magenta taffeta pants, and metallic sandals were a perfect pairing.
  • Accessories: Multicolored flat sandals, oversized tribal earrings, cat-eye sunglasses, large wooden stacked bangles.
  • Who Should Wear It: These effortlessly luxe pieces fit the personality of girls like Kirsten Dunst, Anne Hathaway, and, of course, their sister Elizabeth Olsen.
