>> We haven't seen much of Daria Werbowy lately, but the Spring 2009 Robert Cavalli campaign allows us to see at least two sides of her — bronzed glamazon Daria and and modern Marilyn Monroe Daria.  Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helped Cavalli get his money shots — and that's definitely what he's after, judging by his newest foray: the "Cavalli card," a reptillian credit card looking to give the AmEx black card a little competition.

>> INSIDER WIRE —The modeling industry is known for its plethora of underage constituents, but one major fashion photography duo, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, will only work with models over the age of 18.  As Inez explains it, before then, a model doesn't really who she is or what she's comfortable with. This could have something to do with their tendency toward nude photography, but the duo's current muse, Eniko Mihalik, is 20. [Jezebel]

A couple of weeks ago at the Vogue Paris calendar launch party, Carine Roitfeld spilled all kinds of details about what we have to look forward to: "February is an entire issue with Lara Stone and the cover line is Et Vogue Créa Lara."  The influence is Roger Vadim's 1956 Brigitte Bardot classic Et Dieu . . . créa la femme — Lara has often garned Bardot comparisons — and will include shoots by Inez van Lamsweerde, Peter Lindbergh, Hedi Slimane, Nan Goldin, and Steven Klein.

Granted, Lara is known to be one of Carine's favorite models, but fans are just happy to hear Lara speak, so why an entire issue?  "Lara had almost stopped working so I decided I wanted to make her a star," the VP editor explained.

Claudia Schiffer

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Claudia Schiffer is replacing Naomi Campbell as Yves Saint Laurent's supermodel face for Spring 2009, and the stunning first image of the set is out.  Once again, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed the campaign's Hollywood Hills photoshoot, positioning a tuxedo jacket-clad Claudia in front of a big "Y" — to depict the theme "Y's up."  The ads break in February, and this shot will be used on the newest YSL Manifesto, to be handed out Feb.

Gucci

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Those who enjoyed Liya Kebede and Raquel Zimmermann as Lanvin girls, cherish it while it lasts — they won't be back for Spring 2009.  Although no casts have been revealed, Steven Meisel shot the new Lanvin campaign in New York last week, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot Yves Saint Laurent a few weeks ago with a very "California" theme, Mario Testino is doing Versace in LA in early November, and Gucci will be photographed this week in Miami.

Givenchy

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Fall 2008 campaigns brought a wave of supermodels and for Spring 2009, at least one brand isn't over the nineties girls yet: Ana Claudia Michels, who opened the Givenchy show earlier this month, is jetting into New York to shoot the brand's campaign with Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin tomorrow.  No word as to whether it's an only girl campaign, but if so, I'm sorry to see Riccardo Tisci's favorite Mariacarla Boscono go.

Gucci Fine Jewelry Fall 2008: Different Girl, Same Ads

>> Back in April, Gucci announced that Claire Danes would be replacing Drew Barrymore as the face of their fine jewelry line this Fall.  The campaign was shot by the same photographers — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — and now that the new set of photos with Claire have been revealed, they leave me wondering.  Why switch headliners and shell out the money for a whole new shoot if you're going to use the same exact sand background, same poses, same concept .
