If you've ever wondered what to wear when celebrating with one of fashion's most iconic brands, this style-conscious crew from Ferragamo's NYC party last night could lend you a few very chic outfit ideas. Jessica Hart has a look for the more fashion-forward downtown girl; the Australian model arrived in a printed miniskirt and pastel-hued jacket, but gave the outfit a seriously sexy twist with a pair of lace-up over-the-knee boots. Eva Longoria provided a more understated — but impeccably chic — cocktail look in a sculptural little white dress and gold-studded heels. Meanwhile, Lily Aldridge put her model stems on display in a quilted short-sleeved LBD and cutout pointed-toe heels, and Nicky Hilton styled up a party-ready play on Spring's big black and white trend, complete with a pair of studded Valentino heels. That's the breakdown on what this leggy set wore to party with Ferragamo — now it's time to weigh in. Which look gets your vote?
Anais Mali and Jessica Hart are the latest gorgeous girls to participate in Rag & Bone's DIY Project, for which models are given a camera, a bag of clothes, and directions to interpret the spirit of the brand's line of jeans.
Mali said she took her photos while she was "in St Barth's, where I was for New Year's Eve; then in Miami, when I was visiting my boyfriend." Meanwhile, Hart's sister took photos of her in and around the pool at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. "We wanted to be a bit spontaneous," she said.
In doing the DIY project, Mali and Hart join a long list of models that includes Jourdan Dunn, Karolina Kurkova, Poppy Delevingne, and Liu Wen, among others. A look at their self-styled campaigns here in the gallery.
Jessica Hart had us at her lavender skinny jeans, but if we're looking to the rest of the outfit's components, there's no denying the cool balance struck between quintessential Spring elements and the more functional pieces owed to the chillier NYC climate. While the model's pastel-hued denim choice provided us with the most overt nod to seasonal fare, there were more subtle add-ons that only furthered the effect of her Spring-minded ensemble. Look to the neutral zigzag-print Missoni bag, classic Burberry trench coat, dusty-pink sweater, yellow loafers, and polka-dotted iPhone case for easy ways to incorporate a lighter vibe. These pieces work well together — or as individual statements — and if you're not ready to commit to the bolder-hued jean staple, let these accents do the talking instead. Now that you've got the gist of how Hart's look makes the transition to Spring a colorful and practical one, shop the essentials below.
Miley Cyrus and Rachel Zoe helped celebrate with Mario Testino at a big pre-Oscars bash in LA. It was a private reception toasting Mario's new exhibit at LA gallery Prism, which features many of his most famous photos. Plenty of his admirers were on hand yesterday, including models Alessandra Ambrosio, Jessica Hart, and Liberty Ross. Marisa Tomei and Kim Kardashian made the rounds as well. Kim was happy to finally cross paths with Mario, tweeting afterward, "Fun night! Met one of my favorite photographers, Mario Testino!" Mario's party was one of the many taking place in Hollywood one day before the Oscars — see all the stars partying at Oscars events.
While taking a break from New York Fashion Week to grab a bite at Bar Pitti, Jessica Hart covered her blond locks in NYFW's hottest hat trend — beanies! These toppers are clearly having a major runway moment — just check out BCBG Max Azria's Fall 2013 show — so take note from the Australian model on how to wear one too. Jessica completed her cold-weather ensemble with a white button-down, topped with a soft-pink ribbed sweater, black leather pants, Charlotte Olympia platform booties, and a black structured Salvatore Ferragamo bag. We know it's the busiest — and most wonderful — time of the year, which usually means that not every outfit can be as put together as the last, especially where errands and holiday shopping are involved. We get it, we're right there with you. But to stay as on-point as possible, let's look to Jessica Hart's wintry attire for a quick burst of accessorized motivation. She's provided the perfect example of what to do — and wear — when you want to keep things simple but interesting, and here's why.
- Her black leggings and cinched black trench coat proved equally chic outfit choices. You really can't go wrong with an all-black palette . . . ever. But if you're not one to go the dark monochromatic route, the trick here is to keep it neutral and, preferably, tone on tone. We're assuming this is the kind of outfit you've just thrown together (to get out the door that much quicker), so if this is the case, opt for no-frill basics and a cozy classic coat.
- Oh hello, awesome leopard-print scarf! Amazing how one printed detail can so easily and instantly make an outfit come to life, right? We say, follow suit on this detail, or, if you prefer a different print — say, a giraffe print or an optic rendition? — go with that, but wear the print in a more subtle color. Browns, blacks, creams, and so on work best.
- The reason for keeping the wild-printed scarf not so wild? Just look to Hart's pop of red for your answer. The shoes take the cake in this outfit, and so we're paying homage to her expert accenting with a similar brand of red smoking-slipper excellence. These sultry-hued loafers are the perfect shopping companion — slip them on and go — and, quite frankly, they add enough polish to make the rest of the ensemble stand on its own sans fancy layers on top.
Jessica Hart stepped out in NYC, donning an off-duty model style that was equally chic and sporty. The model paired a light pink button-down blouse with white high-top Converse sneakers ($45), an embossed patent leather Louis Vuitton bag ($2,490), and our favorite piece — unexpected black suede leggings. Celebrities have made leather pants the new Hollywood staple, so Jessica's suede bottoms are a refreshing change. Work a colored button-down top with these faux suede Karen Kane leggings ($99), white Converse, and a sleek patent leather bag for a low-key daytime look, or amp it up at night with these lizard-print Alexander Wang pumps ($525) and a statement necklace.
Model Jessica Hart took a breezy stroll in NYC over the weekend working a cute and casual outfit consisting of a black-and-white polka-dot blouse with cropped skinny lightwash jeans. She accessorized her transitional look via silver t-strap sandals, a matching silver clutch, two-tone sunglasses, and round drop earrings. If you need fresh ideas on how to wear your polka-dot blouse — like this one we love from Equipment ($238) — pair it with your favorite jeans, then add shine via metallic accessories. Button-down or button-up blouses are a style staple, especially for many working women, and the way many celebrities are wearing theirs these days is buttoned up all the way. This look is perfect for Fall and makes for a uniquely prim and proper feel. Depending on the styling, the outfit can be super polished, totally edgy, and even glam. Model Jessica Hart edged up her gray button-down blouse with black leather leggings and a white boyfriend blazer, Nikki Reed went for a preppy glam vibe in a yellow blouse topped with a BaubleBar emerald bib necklace and Brian Atwood snakeskin pumps, and Ashley Madekwe opted for a sweet-slash-naughty vibe in a white silk Equipment blouse with a black leather pleated skirt and red studded booties. No matter what color or fabric blouse you wear or what you choose to wear it with, button it up all the way for a fresh Fall feel.
Model Jessica Hart was spotted leaving the hair salon looking wildly fashionable in a leopard top and black leather shorts. With the weather still warm in NYC, she finished off with black t-strap flat sandals and threw a black jacket over her black chain-strap bag. To make Jessica's ensemble more Fall-appropriate for the upcoming season, just throw on black opaque tights and ditch the sandals for a pair of black booties. Finish with a blazer to polish things up or this faux leather bomber jacket from Urban Outfitters ($99) for a sportier vibe.
