The video, featuring new Balenciaga faces Liya Kebede, Liisa Winkler, and Julia Nobis, is the first to come of many Balenciaga videos. When the brand relaunches their website later this week, it will feature 200 videos (and more than 3,000 photographs). “It’s important to be able to show things in movement,” Ghesquiere explains, adding that he plans to tap "visual artists" and famous photographers to produce more short movies for the site. A short film by Meisel, showcasing the Balenciaga Resort 2012 collection, is due to go live on the site shortly.

Model, actress, and philanthropist Liya Kebede has just been announced as L'Oréal's latest global brand ambassador, joining stars like Freida Pinto, Gwen Stefani, and Jennifer Lopez among the beauty brand's spokeswomen. Liya has served as a goodwill ambassador for the World Health Organization and has also founded the Liya Kebede Foundation, a group that works to reduce maternal and child mortality rates in her home country of Ethiopia. Back in 2003, Liya was the first black model to sign on with Estée Lauder cosmetics. She'll undoubtedly make an excellent addition to the L'Oréal family.

Kate Winslet, who presented Testino with an award, said of working with the photographer: “He’ll say, ‘It’s beeuuutiful, but I think it would be better naked, no?’ Quite frankly, how could one refuse? No matter what insecurities about oneself a subject may have, Mario makes them go away like a magician. One moment you are in the hair and makeup chair fully clothed and wishing you had smoother skin, longer legs and smaller feet and then Mario comes in and in that charming way he takes you by the hand and says, 'Don't worry it's going to be amazing.'"

Carine Roitfeld, meanwhile, said of collaborating with Testino: "What I love about him I can tell him anything and that is very rare with a photographer. If I don't like these shoes, or I don't like this picture I can tell him. It is his complicity . . . to be able to say what you want to someone. I just finished a book about my work so far and 80 percent of it is with Mario."

Testino, meanwhile, credited his career to Anna Wintour: “Long ago she decided I was a good photographer.” As for his favorite photographic subject, he replied: "It would have to be Princess Diana, it took my career to another level. Top five? Kate Moss has been one of my favourites for a long time. I have worked a lot with her. I think I have managed to document her through the 20 years that we have worked together. But there are many people like that: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, it is hard to pick just one."

Rachel McAdams and her Midnight in Paris costars wrapped up their visit to the Cannes Film Festival and headed back to NYC, where they attended a Cinema Society-sponsored screening of the upcoming Woody Allen comedy at the Soho Grand. Woody was there to pose for photos with Rachel, as was her real-life leading man Michael Sheen. Many of their other cast members were in France, but it seems Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Léa Seydoux sat out the latest press event. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, along with Sofia Coppola and Rachel Roy, did come out to see the movie. Rachel, though, was happy to smile for photographers in a long, white Louis Vuitton gown, but she changed into a black jumpsuit for the afterparty also held in the hotel. Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen were among the cutest couples at Cannes while promoting their own project and checking out the debut of Sleeping Beauty. Their travels on behalf of the big-screen endeavor will wrap up when it arrives in theaters Friday, but hopefully there's lots more of Rachel and Michael's adorable PDA to come.
