Opening Ceremony Fall 2012 Collection

For Opening Ceremony's Fall 2012 collection, designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim created a cozy collection inspired by the natural wonders of Patagonia. With a focus on textures and prints inspired by the great outdoors, the duo created a sporty luxe collection comprised of printed trousers, puffer coats, lace-inset sweatshirts, and body-con fleece dresses. Tempering the casual aesthetic were refined touches via leather trim, Mongolian fur, and metallic finishes. Meanwhile, the brand's accessory offerings ranged from round red sunglasses to chunky lace-up boots and chic printed loafers. The collection is definitely a slightly more mature take compared to their past collections, but nonetheless true to Humberto and Carol's whimsical cool style. Check out our top three looks below, then click the slideshow to see the complete collection.

  • We love this leather and tweed moto jacket. It's equal parts polish and tough girl, and perfect for pairing with cropped trousers and pleated midi skirts.
  • A dressy sweatshirt might come off as an oxymoron, but we can't resist this lace and fleece sweatshirt.
  • Car coats are a huge Fall trend. This rendition gives the trend a modern spin thanks to the bright cobalt leather trim.

  • Someone was sufficiently disgruntled with designer Alexander Wang to throw eggs against every one of the windows of his flagship store in New York's SoHo neighborhood. We haven't heard whether or not the vandalism is connected to his labor lawsuits, but store employees' first task this morning was cleaning up the yolky mess. [The Cut]

  • Have you been dying to know when Zac Posen would finally start making sunglasses? Posen has inked a collaboration with eyewear manufacturer Illestva for a limited-edition line of shades that will be available next month at Opening Ceremony, Collete and Illestva.com. All of the shades will sell for $300, and Posen is excited to enter a new category. “As we develop the Zac Posen brand, sunglasses allow me to maintain an aspect of flare and attitude for clothing that transitions into day," he said. [WWD]

  • Supermodel Kate Moss will make an appearance on an this Friday's episode of Absolutely Fabulous. Her time on-screen might be short, but it's packed with a running joke about her tenure in the business. [Styleite]

Opening Ceremony's Resort Editorial Starring Annabelle Dexter-Jones Is Beachy Keen

Lucky magazine is one of our favorite sources for great shopping tips.

Lucky magazine is one of our favorite sources for great shopping tips. We're thrilled to share this fabulous story showing a look at Opening Ceremony's resort editorial from our friends at Lucky!

Opening Ceremony has just released a brand-new editorial to complement their resort collection, and it's all kinds of amazing.

Shot amidst the shores and gardens of Amagansett, New York, the spread captures socialite/model/cool girl Annabelle Dexter-Jones lounging and laughing in a variety of separates from OC's in-house label. Select pieces from Chloë Sevigny's collection for the brand also makes a cameo and there's a heavy focus on very season-appropriate florals, stripes and neat little sneakers. Click through the slideshow to see the editorial, titled "I Don't Know Where But She Sends Me There," in full.

Separates — in the form of figure-skater skirts, flared trousers, ponchos, and moto jackets — looked especially pared-down and easy-wearing this season, with just a hint of the brand's signature retro-quirk thrown in for good measure.

Sneak Peek — Rodarte For Opening Ceremony Fall Lookbook

The Rodarte X Opening Ceremony collaboration has been a match made in heaven since its inception in February — and the love is still going strong for Fall.
Rodarte Opening Ceremony Fall 2011 Collection Lookbook

The Rodarte X Opening Ceremony collaboration has been a match made in heaven since its inception in February — and the love is still going strong for Fall. For their second collection with OC, designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy culled inspiration from Scandinavia, creating a soft and textural collection comprised of long silhouettes, pretty blush hues, and fur coats. The lookbook, modeled by twins Gwen and Donna Loos, shows a nice mix of themes with silk ruffled maxidresses, mohair cardigans, and Fair Isle knits for the girly girl and black leather skirts, sheer dresses, and long-haired fur toppers for the dark angel. The collection will be available early in October both in stores and online. Here are some Fall pointers we gleaned from the collection:

  • Pink is here to stay. Instead of a hot pink hue, opt for lighter blush tones come cooler weather.
  • Get textural. We love all of the furs, ruffles, and embellishments seen in this collection.
  • Embrace printed trousers. Instead of opting for a pretty LBD at your next dressed-up event, experiment with a pair of standout trousers.

Now peep the complete lookbook in the slideshow.
