Not surprising that we've been spotting the Hugh Hefner-style loungers all throughout the fashion weeks. Street style favorite Giovanna Battaglia was spotted wearing a multicolored fleur de lis pair in New York (top left) as well as a plain black set in Milan while T magazine's Jane Herman trotted to the New York shows in tasseled patent ones (bottom left). >> It would be hard to miss the buzz surrounding Alejandro Ingelmo's first New York Fashion Week presentation — not only is the designer a recent CFDA nominee, but his shoes have already traipsed the runways of several major shows this week, including Chris Benz and Helmut Lang. So it was no surprise that tonight, in a darkened room at Milk Studios, the throngs vying to get a peek at next season's offerings were at times five and six deep. And no wonder — placed on glistening pedestals under dramatic spot-lighting, the shoes did not disappoint. There were cage heels in mirror-metallics, layered peep-toe booties with cut-away backs, and gilded leather sandals so shiny they seemed to glow from within. But the real knock-outs? As we mentioned earlier, Nike is rolling out a real-life version of Marty McFly's self-lacing Nike shoes, and High Snobiety has an early look at the shoes in person.

As we mentioned earlier, Nike is rolling out a real-life version of Marty McFly's self-lacing Nike shoes, and High Snobiety has an early look at the shoes in person. Head there for more pics! The shoes will be sold for a good cause, too: proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. We're drooling over here.

Update: Nike will be auctioning off 1,500 pairs of MAGs during a 10-day event (150 pairs per day) starting tonight at 8:30p.m. PST and running through Sept. 18 via Ebay’s Fashion Vault. Unfortunately the shoes don't auto-lace, but I'd still get the credit card ready just in case.

Nike Set to Release Marty McFly's Self-Tying Shoes?

I've pretty much waited my entire adult life for this moment: Nike may be set to release Marty McFly's sneakers, the Air Mags, from Back to the Future 2 after patenting the self-tying laces last year.

I've pretty much waited my entire adult life for this moment: Nike may be set to release Marty McFly's sneakers, the Air Mags, from Back to the Future 2 after patenting the self-tying laces last year. A new video has surfaced (uploaded from DocEmmettBrown88, no less) of "McFly's Closet," which shows rows upon rows of the futuristic shoes.

Additionally, Nike has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow in LA, which only makes me more anxious to see what the company has up its sleeve. Hold your collective breath for tomorrow's press conference, but in the meantime, check out the video below the break.
