Chartreuse is one of those colors that people have a hard time feeling neutral about. This Chartreuse Tufted Headboard ($1,709) is built on a maple frame that's been covered in tufted, chartreuse suede. Part of me loves it, but I doubt that I could handle the color — or decorating around the color — for very long. What about you?

These Preen for Topshop shoes are basic and chic--plus, the only civilized way to wear suede in the Fall is when the cold, hard ground doesn't come between you and your shoe. Spotted: Victoria and little Cruz showing off their holiday spirit in LA. While the wee one rocked a festive Santa hat — Lil can break his outfit down to you — Victoria kept it posh in a hunter green suede dress. Though hard to come by, these sumptuous frocks are well worth the search. Word to the wise: Vintage shops are a cheap alternative to paying exuberant retail prices. I found my vintage suede Yves Saint Laurent dress at a local consignment store for only $30 dollars — score!

Suede
A type of leather with a napped finish. It is made from the under side of the skin, primarily lamb, although goat, pig, calf and deer are commonly used. The term comes from the French "gants de Suède," which literally means "gloves of Sweden." Suede can also refer to a similar napped or brushed finish on many kinds of fabrics.
If you like the smooth feel of suede, try this Spiegel Suede Swing Top ($99, originally $129). It would look great over a pair of stovepipe jeans.
